The Lizard
An unspoilt region of sandy coves, dramatic cliffs, picture postcard fishing villages and sweeping moorland, the Lizard has a strong, distinctive character. Unique to this region, Serpentine - so named because of its resemblance to snakeskin when wet – can be seen as nature intended in the rocky outcrops and stacks of Kynance Cove. Walkers of the extensive coastal footpath can enjoy spectacular scenery and cliffs vibrant with rare species of wild flowers. From July to October the downs which surround the impressive structures of the Goonhilly Earth Satellite Station are vibrant with deep lilac and white-pink heathers that can only be found on this beautiful Peninsula.
