“We have been holidaying in your cottages for over 30 years.”

We used to love the little pig tiles and the shower tap in the bathroom at chimneys and feel that it has lost some of it's character. Unfortunately when we arrived, the bedroom windows were full of dead and dying flies which we hoovered up over a couple of days. The fire doors are extremely heavy ( they seem to like tripping you up) and there is always a duvet and other bedding in the cupboard where we like to hang clothes and place suitcases. The fire doors are extremely heavy ( they seem to like tripping you up) and there is always a duvet and other bedding in the cupboard where we like to hang clothes and place suitcases. The drawers on the chest of drawers stick and are difficult to use. Maybe take a recce..oh and try using the tin opener. Sorry to moan but we were in chimneys when it was first let, many years ago, been every year since and remember how original and thoughtfully equipped it was. I hear that faraway ( where we've also stayed many times) has had the same 'makeover'

The property

Perched on the top of a hill and boasting breathtaking views, this comfortable cottage's three chimneys have been a landmark for ships sailing past Land's End for years. This secluded hilltop haven is surrounded by boundless moorland, and if you visit us towards the end of the summer, you might even get the chance to see this incredible landscape covered by carpets of pink heather. Inside, you'll find four bedrooms, two cosy living areas, a large kitchen/diner, as well as an enclosed private garden.

This charming house offers spacious accommodation for up to eight guests, and with views over the sea and the moors, it's easy to while away the hours simply watching ships sail by.

About the location

PORTHGWARRA

Sennen 3 miles; Land's End 4.1 miles; Penzance 12 miles.

The parish of St Levan derives its name from the 4th Century saint who settled here. The ancient ruins of his Chapel can still be seen today above Church Cove, one of three beautiful and secluded beaches on this wild, unspoilt, and staggeringly beautiful peninsular, the most South Westerly point in the UK. Porthgwarra, the next beach along, sparkles at the end of a valley. You’ll find tunnels hewn into the cliffs, and the Porthgwarra Cove Café, along with the Guest Hub. It is the place to go for breakfast, lunch, ice cream, cakes, cream teas, pasties, helpful advice, and arranging holiday fun. Seals are endlessly dropping by. Continue over the clifftops and you arrive at Nanjizal, accessible only by foot and without a road in sight. At one end stands the stunning Zawn Pyg (‘Song of the Sea’) a natural rock arch that has captivated people for centuries. If the fancy took you to go on, then Sennen is around the corner. As well as being nestled in secluded coastal locations, our cottages are just a stone’s throw from some of Cornwall’s best-loved sights. Porthcurno and the Minack Theatre are within walking distance. St Michael’s Mount, St Ives, and many of the area’s best beaches are just a short drive away.
