Great location with only a 2 minute walk to one of two Co-op's and all the other shops. Beds were extremely comfortable and every where was spotlessly clean. I would definitely book again when visiting Looe

“Lovely cottage in the centre of Looe so accessible to everything.”

Julie(The Owner) was very easy to communicate with and left really great instructions on where to park and accessing the property. It was really thoughtful to leave milk, coffee, tea the biscuits were a hit with children aswell. The cottage was decorated beautiful and cupboards well stocked for self catering. The property was clean and beds comfy. There was lots of info provided on places to eat. A lovely break and would stay again

“The attention to detail that Julie puts into the property was amazing, from board games to beach kit, wind breakers, towels for soggy dogs by the door, milk in the fridge with biscuits so you can have a cuppa on arrival.”

Very close car parking space, Internet spot on, TV and Amazon prime films to watch. Rooms were well thought out with everything you need. Beds were really comfortable with a nice sized shared family bathroom. Stairs are windy but there are plenty of things to grab hold of to help you up and down which might be reassuring for older folk who are looking. Very good communication from the owner Julie. Overall we all had an amazing stay in a beautiful cottage in our favourite Cornish location.

Very clean and had everything you could need. Bedrooms are all a good size and the beds very comfortable, bathroom is lovely too. The owner was extremely helpful and returned the good housekeeping bond very quickly. Will definitely be heading back for another stay.

“Just got back from our stay at Curlews Cottage which is cosy and well appointed, perfectly located for both the harbour to the rear and the shops and restaurants turning left as you step out with parking close by which was a bonus.”

Plenty of places to eat out, we enjoyed the Sunday carvery at the Smugglers Cott just 1 minute from Curlews, very good food but note they do not allow four legged friends and you need to book in advance as popular. Also just a stroll from the cottage is The Lookout where we enjoyed a good breakfast, same thing do book even in off-peak as they get busy. All in all an enjoyable break away, would recommend.

“Lovely property, not been in too many rental before and did not expect to have to buy more toilet rolls and washing up liquid, but that was OK.”

They have done really well to squeeze everything into a relatively small space, I am glad the weather was good and we didn't need to all sit in the property for long / all evening as the space was very limiting for 6 of us and the dog.

I haven't received any previous complaints about the size of the property, but admittedly the downstairs living space is a little cosy for six people and a dog. We even had teabags, biscuits and milk on arrival which is a lovely touch after a very long journey. Only feedback would be that a baby gate for the top floor stairs (outside children’s bedroom) would be ideal. I was very uneasy worried that they may tumble down them if they awoke before us.

“Looe is really lovely.”

Curlews is in a central position in the town with parking as a bonus. A few steps to the quay, beach and town. Some noise late evening and early morning. We found the cottage comfortable and nicely furnished and equipped.

Overwhelming accommodation we didn’t need to take half the stuff we did as it was already in the cottage available!!! Complete with little touches like welcoming gifts such as coffee, milk, biscuits! Fantastic service from start to finish!

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
