“My dog and I had a lovely stay at Zawn Nook.”

A welcome cream tea was left for me, along with treats for the dog! The situation is fantastic, harbour views and right in the centre of Falmouth town next to many bars and restaurants. Would love to come back one day.

The property

Zawn Nook is a quaint studio apartment nestled in the stunning coastal town of Falmouth, in Cornwall.

Perched right on the harbour, this charming property offers stunning water views and makes for a perfect, private getaway for couples.

After strolling along the quay and admiring the views of the glistening River Fal, head up a few steps to an open-plan, studio living area. You’ll find a seating area to lounge on as you watch your favourite movies or sink into the cushy double bed which can be pulled up for additional seating space.

Whip up you and your partner’s favourite meals in the well-equipped kitchen and have a dinner date around the small dining table set for two.

In the morning, before setting off to visit your surroundings, freshen up under the steaming spray in the shower room. Take your special person along to explore the wonders Falmouth has to offer; a mere short walk away from the property you’ll find a wealth of eateries such as Harbour View Cafe and Bar with its outdoor seating and heaters for those who’d like to enjoy water views as they eat, Culture Restaurant for some fine dining, and the Cribbs Cornwall, for a candlelight dinner. Falmouth town centre is a fun, lively (day and night), vibrant, diverse and creative hub, visit Falmouth Art Gallery or view an exhibition or watch a film at the Poly.

A mix of music and venues to be enjoyed being the Chain Locker pub next door, the Pavillion and Cornish Bank.

Many of the pubs have ‘Open Mic Nights’ with a wealth of local talent performing regularly at the Front or Moth and Moon.

Or if you want to dance you could to Mangos, Toast or the Arwenack Club. There are numerous independent art galleries and souvenir and antique shops.

There’s an open-air market on the Moor each Saturday.

There are many studios practicing artists nearby and several on King Charles Quay.

The National Maritime Museum is on your doorstep as are ferries to Flushing and St Mawes. You won’t have to venture far for activities as there is so much to do in Falmouth, walk down to Pendennis Castle, a hilltop castle offering breathtaking estuary views - don’t forget to check out its viewpoints Pendennis Point and Castle Ford, to enjoy even more stunning coastal views. Make your way to Orca Sea Safaris, where you’ll take a boat trip to seek dolphins, whales and other wildlife while exploring the natural beauty of Cornwall’s coastline and history.

Dolphins are frequently sighted from Pendennis Point.

If you get lucky you may even get to meet our resident seal who visits us now and then, but you are sure to meet either the swans or kingfisher.

When the sun is shining, take a stroll and a picnic in the lush Queen Mary Gardens, then don your swimsuit to end the day tanning on the sand and paddling in the water at Gyllyngvase Beach.

(approx 15 mins on foot) Drive down to Helston and take a hike through Penrose Park and Coronation Park, visit the Museum of Cornish Life or channel your inner-child at Flambards Theme Park.

No trip to Cornwall would be complete without eating some Cornish pasties, so make a stop at The Cornish Bakery on your way back to the property.

Zawn Nook is a perfect romantic escape. The owners live in the main house Zawn Haven and can be available to assist with any queries or recommendations, so feel free to knock on the main door and say hello.

If you fancy going out drawing and painting with the owners ...

don’t be shy, just ask.
