The property

Beautiful and homely bungalow located in the Goran Haven area of Cornwall.

Summerfield Cottage is attached to the Summerfield House, which is at the rear.

The cottage is a great retreat for families or couples looking for a fantastic holiday in Cornwall, and it’s in close proximity to the village’s shops and beach.

Inside the cottage there’s a full modern kitchen, as well as a living/dining area, which is a great place to unwind after a day spent walking around the coast, with guests able to relax in front of the plasma TV.

Also located in the living/dining area is a sofa bed.

Elsewhere, the property has king-size and twin bedrooms, along with a reasonably sized bathroom with a separate shower cubicle.

Outside of the cottage is a shared front garden and private sitting area – a great place to relax and top up your tan in the summer.

The village centre has plenty of shops and also two pubs.

Further on is the sandy beach, lovely for an early evening walk.

Also close to the property is a children’s play area, football pitch and tennis courts.

Away from Gorran Haven, holidaymakers are advised to check out nearby Vault and Hemmick beaches, which are one and two miles away respectively.

There’s also the picturesque harbour village of Megavissey, which is just 10 minutes away, where you can bask in the beautiful surroundings of colourful cottages along the cliffside.

Why not take a ferry from the port of St Mawes to Fowey?

Fowey makes for a great day out and its winding streets hide many interesting shops.

The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are other popular attractions in the area. This cottage is located along the spectacular Roseland Peninsula coastline, and with plenty of beaches and attractions within touching distance, it’s a fine place from which to spend a holiday in Cornwall.

About the location

GORRAN HAVEN

Mevagissey 3 miles.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach set behind a traditional sea wall, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide and is popular with families. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is readily accessible from the South West Coast Path that passes through Gorran Haven. Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck. From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east. Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey. Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle, an informal 60-acre garden on the coast near Porthluney Cove. Nearby attractions are the wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro, with an excellent range of quality shopping and dining.
