The property

Set amidst a beautiful countryside landscape, Higher Kernick Stable enjoys glorious almost wrap-around rural views near the village of Helland.

Within a short drive of fabulous beaches, hot-spot resorts and famed attractions, the area is a haven for walkers, with Bodmin Moor , Saints Way and The Camel Trail on the doorstep.

Access the peaceful Wenfordbridge section of The Camel Trail, just 3 minutes away, or hire bikes and pedal the 5.5 miles from Wadebridge to Padstow along this scenic level track with its stunning views of the Camel Estuary - a great adventure for ramblers and cyclists.

Wadebridge, on the River Camel is eight miles away, perfect for a coffee and browse of the craft shops.

The picturesque harbour at Padstow is surrounded by galleries, celebrity chef eateries and traditional inns.

Polzeath Beach is great for sandcastles and the iconic cove at Port Isaac is very picturesque.

Explore the coastal paths to Rock, Daymer Bay and Pentire Point, capturing the spectacular Atlantic Ocean seascape from the cliff tops.

Fabulous Fowey on the Cornish Riviera is reached within a 30 minute drive.

The giant biodomes of flora and fauna at The Eden Project are nearby and the cathedral city of Truro is host to cinema, theatre and retail shops.

Higher Kernick Stable is a beautifully presented stable block conversion adjacent to the owners' own home.

The accommodation is comfy and makes an idyllic bolthole for couples and families seeking a countryside getaway.

The sitting room has squashy sofas and the kitchen has all the mod cons, with a dining table perfect for gatherings.

Post swim, bathe or shower in the smart bathroom.

Both bedrooms (with some restricted height) are restful; sit out on the little balcony accessed from the twin bedroom with an evening tipple or relax in the suntrap private courtyard, ideal for barbecues.

There is a picnic bench in the paddock and little ones will love feeding the resident hens.

A complimentary Cornish cream tea awaits your arrival and the Blisland Inn is just over 2 miles away serving delicious food and ales.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

BLISLAND

Bodmin 5.7 miles; Wadebridge 8.4 miles; Polzeath 13.2 miles; Tintagel 13.8 miles; Padstow 16 miles; Fowey 17.2 miles.

Situated under the western edge of granite-bound Bodmin Moor, the village of Blisland retains its age old character and is the only village in Cornwall to have a village green with trees. Around the green, cluster old houses and cottages, as well as the famous, award-winning Blisland Inn. The village is located less than three miles from the A30, and so provides an ideal central location for touring Cornwall. Nearby, Poley’s Bridge marks the beginning of the Camel Trail, a 17-mile long route, which follows a long disused old steam engine railway line to Padstow. The route is completely traffic-free and perfect for walkers and cyclists. You can even explore the trail on horseback and a purpose-built hide has been constructed between Wadebridge and Padstow, so even birdwatchers are catered for! Pull on your walking boots and explore Bodmin Moor, or venture to the coast with your buckets and spades and enjoy a day on one of the many beautiful beaches that stretch along Cornwall’s northern coastline. A fabulous part of the country for all!

Note: height restrictions in first floor bedrooms and steep spiral staircase.
Note: Please state your preference of double room to the owner 1 week prior to arrival.
