“The property was extremely welcoming after a hard day being a tourist , the hamper Michele and Kevin left was great and very thoughtful .”

The property was exactly as described online fully fitted kitchen with all modcons and there was also a manuel explaining how to work them , we would highly recommend westfields to anyone who was looking to have an enjoyable time in Cornwall.

“Excellent little place.”

High end quality fittings. Kitchen has everything you need. Hosts are very friendly. Lovely garden to chill in. Bed really comfortable. All on one floor with a ramp to entrance. Second time of staying . Would recommend to a couple wanting a cosy hideaway.

It is beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped for self catering but there is also a lovely pub close by ‘The Elliot Arms’ a 15 - 20 minutes walk away .

The owners, Kevin and Michele who live next door, are very friendly and made us most welcome. Not that easy to find so need to pay close attention to the directions provided. We would recommend 100%.

“A lovely clean and modern studio, with all the comforts.”

Good parking with a nice accessible garden. The kitchen is extremely well appointed as is the shower room. A lovely comfortable bed. Close to the A30 which makes visiting various attractions and beaches/countryside easily accessible. We cannot fault this lovely property and would recommend to any couple looking for a relaxing comfortable property to stay. The owners are really pleasant and approachable and have a good eye for detail. An extremely clean and warm property.

“The property was finished to an extremely high standard and it was a comfortable place to stay.”

The only negative aspect, we felt, was the slightly damp smelling bathroom, maybe due to limited ventilation and the shower cubicle not entirely containing the water and soaking the mat. The gas oven was a little tricky to use the first time. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here if we came back to this area in the future.

So immaculate and spotlessly clean. Loved the decor, the comfort and just walking into the home was a great start of our holiday break. Thank you for having the leaflets guide book/file of instructions to the modern furniture and equipment and the tourists books and leaflets which were handy to plan our stay and to know of places to visit- this helped a lot. “We used the cottage as a home for two weeks as we were having our kitchen and bathroom refurbished and we were delighted from the very start ,everything was so clean and well maintained.”

Lovely welcome hamper and the cottage was warm and welcoming. We had an issue with WiFi and the shower head which was rectified really quickly. We can't praise Kevin and Michele enough for a wonderful break and we can't recommend the cottage enough, the best we have ever stayed in.

“This was a great little stay, the cottage was perfect for the two of us.”

It had plenty of amenities for our week there and everything was spotless! You would have thought it was all brand new! The owners responded rapidly if we had an issue (the wifi did not work when we arrived) but within an hour, they had fixed it and came round and knocked to make sure all was okay. The bed was very comfy and there was plenty of storage space. The owners even left us a little bundle of snacks and drinks on arrival. The disposal system was a little complicated but we were given all the necessary bags needed to help recycle properly. Great stay, would definitely stay again.

“Very good standard of accommodation ***** everything you need is provided.”

Location is quiet close to the A30 hence considerable traffic noise outside the property, o/k inside the property. Directions to the property not good, all that’s required is when you get to the A395 take the first left turn, don’t mention the golf course it’s confusing.

“Beautiful looking place.”

.. but the bed was really uncomfortable and I couldn't sleep. Wish I had known about the eco side of the facilities before I had packed, couldn't use the wash machine as I hadn't taken the right detergent and being left instructions on how to put the lid on the kettle was a bit unwelcoming. We weren't bothered by the noise of the road or the tractor plowing the field outside our bedroom window at 4am as we knew it was a working farm. Had a walk to the nearest pub but its not a safe road in the dark as no street lighting. Wasn't the place for us but it could make a good base for another couple.

We are sorry our lovely property wasn’t for you, especially after all the positive reviews that we have received to date from all our other guests. I would like to express, that during the week of your stay, Cornwall was experiencing extreme temperatures with very uncomfortable hot humid nights – so we are wondering if this may have contributed to you being uncomfortable & not being able to sleep. As with most rural properties the amenities may not be the same as in urban areas and for the majority this is not an issue (most people use their phone torch in the unlit areas). The helpful tip we supply about the kettle lid is provided purely for the guest's safety, so we are sad that you found this important information unwelcoming! We are Sorry Westfields wasn’t for you, as most of our guests really enjoy their time here & as per our reviews often wish to make a return visit. Best wishes Michele & Kevin (Owners) Property Owner

It's clear to see that the owners didn't scrimp on the budget when fitting the property out. Nice secluded area, very quite considering the A30 is right behind us, although the patio doors are top quality and block out road noise. We only saw the owners once which is great, we were left alone to enjoy the property whilst knowing that they are on hand immediately if we needed them.

Kevin and Michele are just the most wonderful hosts...nothing is too much trouble. There is a large private garden, which we were able to utilise during the sunny evenings, and the garden had wonderful scrubs and flowers.....in essence...very pleasant. The accommodation is absolutely faultless and provides everything you could possibly need. Clean, cosy, modern and comfortable. I will be booking another two weeks later in the summer.....yes, it's that good

The Property is an absolute gem....renovated to a very high standard, with modern decor, and tucked away at the end of a country lane. It backs directly on to the A30 dual carriage way, but due to good construction standards the noise is barely perceivable. The water fall shower and underfloor heating were very nice. Cleanliness is beyond reproach. The owners (Michele and Kevin) are extremely personable, friendly and accommodating. There is a small private garden, and good parking on a newly renovated drive way. If you are looking for some peace and quiet in this particular area, you will not find a better property. Will definitely return here again.

Extremely clean with modern decor comfortable furniture and bed. Fully equipped with everything you will need. Owners live next door and respond quickly. Very convenient to have a lock box for access and not to have to specify time of arrival. In a good position for visiting the numerous sights to see. We will be returning in the new year.

We loved the fact there were solar panels on the roof! The cottage is next to an A road so it's a little nosy outside, but for anyone who is concerned, the cottage itself is really well insulated and quiet. Plus it's really good for easy access to days out.

Decorated and furnished to a high standard, this newly renovated single storey property is light and airy and furnished in a comfortable modern style․ Offering a romantic escape for couples, it has many luxury facilities including a walk in rain shower, 50 inch smart Tv, Usb charging power sockets & good Wifi․ Should the nights get a bit chilly there is a lovely contemporary cinderwood effect fire & underfloor heating system, both with smart control.

The accommodation itself is located a few miles outside of the historic town of Launceston & can be easily found just off the A30․ Situated near to farm land with views across open fields the property is ideally placed to explore the coasts and countryside of both Cornwall & Devon.

Local amenities include a charming traditional village Inn (roughly a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive) which provides local ales & is renowned for its delicious home cooked food, using locally sourced produce․ There is an 18 hole course just a 3 minute walk away for those that enjoy a spot of golf along with a variety of amenities that are open to non-members including ten pin bowling, a bar/ Restaurant & cooked breakfast.

Bodmin Moor & the famous Jamacia Inn are a 10 minute drive away from the accommodation, along with the Daphne du Maurier Museum & a farm shop․ The beautiful North coastline is around a 25 minute drive away and offers a variety of beaches, lovely coastline walks & an abundance of wildlife․ Further along this coast the picturesque fishing village of Port Issac (where the famous Doc Martin series was filmed) can also be found along with the harbour of Padstow where visitors love to sample Rick Steins Fish & chips etc․ The unspoilt harbour village of Boscastle & the spectacular historic site of Tintagel Castle also lay along this coast.

In the other direction you can go across the border into Devon to the ancient Stanary town of Tavistock which lies just on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park (This again from the accommodation is approximately a 25minutes drive)․ Tavistock is heaped in history & boasts a variety of individual shops/market selling local produce, local art and crafts․ Just outside the town is the beautiful rolling landscape of Dartmoor known for its outstanding beauty /Dartmoor ponies & the notorious Dartmoor Prison.

The town of Launceston itself is also steeped in history as it was the ancient capital of Cornwall and still boasts a medieval south gate and the ruins of a castle․ There is a steam railway which runs trips through the local countryside & a lovely Georgian Museum detailing the history of the town.

With so much to do and see in the area we believe Westfeilds can offer a diverse holiday experience.

The town of Launceston, situated on the Devon and Cornwall border, has wonderful architecture, including some fine Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. Visit the Tamar Otter Park just 3 miles away or take a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley on a 5-mile round trip. Launceston is within driving distance of the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow to the north, and Plymouth to the south, as well as the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. A superb base for exploring Cornwall and Devon.
