It is perfectly placed, not only for peace and quiet and also for a base when exploring the area. We do not provide dryers in our properties as we have read so many stories of them catching fire and as a holiday let, we have stricter and stricter fire regulations to meet every year. We do supply a clothes airer, heated towel rails in both bathrooms and if the weather is dry we have a washing line, pegs etc. Property Owner

It was in a nice quiet setting that was about a 1.5 mile walk to the beach. The cottage is well furnished and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils etc. Holly the property manager was fab. Very polite and helpful.

The property was presented excellently - spotlessly clean with all aspects well thought out, convenient and meticulously presented. A homely feel and practical. We holidayed with two dogs and four humans and everyone found the cottage not only an ideal base but a genuine home from home and a fun place to stay in even on a wet March day. The attention given by Holly to our comfort and enjoyment of the week was great and it was very reassuring to know she was at hand if anything arose we needed help with. Location was excellent too, with lots to do in the local area. We have already booked to return and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

We absolutely love that we can be confident each time that it fulfills our expectations (and more)of a great holiday home. Comfortable,cosy, spotlessly cleaned and prepared by Holly.We would definitely recommend this to friends and family.On the plus side there is a great bakery,shop in Cubert. Also nearby in Crantock a post offiçe/general stores and Cornishman serving real ales and good food.

“Wow what a cottage, Roman has everything you could need for a relaxing holiday.”

A delightful house that has lots of amenities, spacious rooms and fantastic gardens. As a base it was perfect for our plans ranging from walks to super close beaches to getting on the main roads for exploring Cornwall. The property manager was amazing and always answered our messages and offering help & recommendations. This was one of our favourite holidays and we would definitely come back for another stay.

“We have stayed in many cottages across the UK, this was comfortably the best we have ever stayed in.”

So spacious inside, the bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living spaces were of the absolute highest quality. Superbly equipped and very clean and the garden and outdoor area to the rear of the property were just perfect. We are absolutely gutted to be leaving, we’ve loved every minute of our stay at Rowan Cottage. If you turn right out of the cottage, head up the road to the gate, that takes you onto Cubert Common and down into Polly Joke beach - this is highly recommended. It takes around 20-30 minutes dependent on how eager you are - I had our dog so managed it in 20 but a light walk would be around 30, this is a lovely walk and a beautiful beach (best kept secret in Cornwall still after all these years). Recommend the village chip shop in Cubert, Bowgie Inn in West Pentire for the views (and really improved over the last few years) and just near a scenic walk around to Polly Joke featuring Poppy fields around beg - late June. Thanks to the Owner for reaching out when we booked our stay and to Holly for being so helpful in the lead up to our stay. A wonderful cottage, amazingly located. We will be back.

“Rowan is a beautiful cottage set in lovely surroundings.”

The Garden is beautiful and well maintained. This matches the interior. There are lots of little touches that make the holiday a joy. I have mobility issues and the suite downstairs was exceptional. It wasn't just an add on it was tastefully decorated with no expense spared. The kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances. Considering the cottage allows dog's there was no doggy smell. Praise for the cleaners. It was spotless. Communication with the host was excellent. Private parking a bonus.

“We had a lovely stay at Rowan Cottage, Extremely clean & the kitchen & dining faculties were fabulous, One downside of the cottage is, The lounge is very snug, So to fit 6 people in (4 adults, 1 teenager & 1 10year old) was very crowded.”

But this didn’t detract from us from enjoying the comfort of the cottage. There was everything you would need for everyday life, Spare light bulbs, batteries, laundry facilities, Cleaning equipment, games etc A well thought out Holiday Cottage, Would love to return

We have a good size three seater sofa and a two seater with a additional chair in the dining room-should guests require extra seating. Our aim is to provide enough comfy seating for six guests and as with any of the rooms, we have tried to place furniture in a way to allow guests to not only have comfort and usefulness, but also to have plenty of movement around the cottage. We note that you have marked us down on Facilities and Maintenance and are assuming this is the items mentioned in your check out note ie. the toaster only working on one side of the 4 slice toaster . It was all working and is just a case of pushing down one side first. We do leave instruction booklets for appliances as we appreciate that guests may not be familiar with all brands. We also ask guests to notify our Property Manager during your stay if anything is not as you would expect it to be. We would much prefer to sort out any problems whilst you are there, if possible, rather than hear about them afterwards. We want all our guests to have a great stay at our properties. Property Owner

“We absolutely loved Rowan cottage.”

It was sparkling clean from top to bottom thanks to Holly the property manager who really pulled out all the stops. Lovely big bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The master suite opens out onto a patio and the master bathroom is very luxurious. I’ve never seen a holiday cottage kitchen that is so well stocked with everything you could need and more. The garden was lovely and secluded. Would definitely recommend.

“Rowan cottage is just perfect.”

As soon as you walk in it feels like home, with everything you need provided. Super clean, and as a Housekeeping Manager I have a high standard. Comfortable beds and the showers are superb. The garden is lovely and perfect for dogs. The best part, it's location, with the stunning common just up the road leading to Polly Joke Bay, which is a beautiful beach. You can also access Holywell Bay from the common which brought back so many memories. Going further afield we also explored the amazing Bodmin Moor, Boscastle and Tintagel. All made more perfect as we had Rowan cottage to come back too. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, especially to Holly, who is a star. We will return.

Nice and quiet, beautiful cottage and so easy to make yourself at home. We love the idea of a good size ground floor bedroom with en suite and french doors that open out to the rear patio. “Spent a week at Rowan Cottage in May weather was a mixed bag but the time we spent at Rowan was amazing.”

Rowan had everything you could wish for, home from home and more. The location is fantastic especially as we took our four legged hound walking along the country lane meeting the chickens, geese, rabbits and horses before we walked across the common to Poly Joke beach, a hidden gem. Most of our time was walking along the coastal paths. Rowan Cottage was exactly as described and as silly as it sounds, the use of items such as salt, pepper, tea coffee, sugar etc was very much appreciated (the lemon cake went down well). We will most definitely be staying at Rowan Cottage again. Thank you

“We were made to feel very welcome at the cottage by owners and Holly who was very helpful and fully communicated with us prior to our stay.”

Cottage very comfortable and in a great position to visit nearby beaches. Cubert common was a short walk away which our dog loved and the hot water outside shower was appreciated and made our life easier. Lovely fully enclosed garden was enjoyed by our dog and we even managed to sit out on the bench to join him on the couple of sunny days we had. Great cottage and would recommend to others

It had everything you needed and more. On arrival, we had a lovely welcome pack and Ellie, our dog hadn’t been forgotten as there was a tin of dog biscuits for her. The weather wasn’t great, but it was lovely coming back to a very warm and cosy cottage. Can see why this cottage is 5* as everything is of a high quality and finish. Due to the location, do need a car but everything you need is only a short drive away. Will definitely be recommending this cottage to family and friends and can’t wait to go back. Prior to our break we had plenty of information from the owners and Holly, including a call the day before to give us any final information we needed. We had high expectations but when we arrived our expectations were exceeded. We were met by Holly who came to make sure we had everything we needed and she gave us information on local places to visit. She had also left a few welcome goodies which were appreciated and enjoyed. The cottage is beautiful, we felt like we were the the first guests to have stayed there as it was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The master bedroom and en-suite is amazing, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and the lounge is comfortable and welcoming. The outside warm shower was brilliant for the dogs. The cottage is in a lovely rural and peaceful location. Polly Joke is walkable and other beaches are a few minutes drive. It is a great base for exploring the area. We wish we could have stayed for longer but hope to return again soon. Thank you to the owners and to Holly for such an wonderful break.

“Rowan cottage is a beautiful picturesque cottage in the rural setting of Cubert near to Crantock Bay.”

The location is quiet and has stunning beaches easily accessible within a 20-30 minute walk to Poly Joke beach and slightly longer walks to both Holywell and Crantock beaches. The cottage has well maintained gardens with a lovely seating area to the front of the property. Holly who looks after the property is very helpful and polite and makes sure that every requirement is taken care of and was pleased to share her good local knowledge. We would definitely stay at the cottage again and have no hesitation in recommending it for anyone wanting a rural quiet setting and the perfect base to explore the surrounding area and Cornwall during your stay. We have stayed in lots over the years! It was very well equipped throughout and comfortable. The location was perfect for us as it was within walking distance of a beautiful beach and surrounding countryside. The housekeeper, Holly, was welcoming and friendly and was happy for us to contact her if we needed any help. We didn't but it was good to have that contact. Overall we had a great holiday despite the weather - rain and gale force winds! We hope to return to Rowan Cottage in the future.

“A lovely cottage in a great location.”

The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The details of how to get there and arrangements for the keys to the cottage all worked very smoothly and the contact person (Holly) was very helpful. We particularly enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and the village with a great Bakery where you can get coffee and cakes alongside a Pub which also sells food. Beautiful cottage and very clean. Holly who looked after us was very helpful and friendly. I must point out that since Sykes took over from Cornwall Cottages the prices have gone up a lot on all of the cottages i viewed online. I have got another cottage booked with Sykes and after that will probably start looking elsewhere for accommodation

“Rowan Cottage is in a fantastic location for exploring lots of Cornwall.”

If you don’t want to drive you can walk from the cottage for about a mile to a beautiful bay. We had an amazing walk over the stunning cliff and saw a colony of seals on the beach ! The cottage was fantastic, spotlessly clean , comfortable and had all we needed there. Holly the property manager was very helpful and on hand to help if needed . We would definitely return.

“Just home after a weeks stay at Rowan Cottage, we've had a fantastic stay here.”

It is a well equipped cottage with a great layout, with those extra touches inside that make it so comfortable and homely. All in all a great place to stay and in a good location for visiting local beaches, which are all dog friendly(if you do happen to have a dog with you) which we did have. Also, thank you to Holly for being most helpful with arrival instructions etc for Rowan Cottage. Will be booking again and would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

“It was an excellent cittage and location but these few points below would be worth noting.”

It would have been good to know the approximate walking distance to the nearby beach called Polly Joke. For us it was about 30-35 minutes walk with the first 10 minutes being up the lane to Cubert Common. We could not find a shaving socket anywhere in the house (and did ask the property manager about this) so we were unable to charge our electric toothbrushes. Not the end of the world, but unusual. We thought the £40 charge for our dog was excessive and would not book this cottage again unless that was reduced to a more typical level.

The property

Resting in the small hamlet of Tresean between Cubert and Crantock, this beautifully presented detached cottage is the ultimate getaway for those seeking a relaxing holiday on the north coast of Cornwall.

Stepping into this inviting home, you are welcomed by a comfortable lounge and ample kitchen, complete with everything you need to cook a hearty feast.

There is a separate dining room which overlooks the garden and leads on into the master bedroom.

The master has the benefit of direct access to the garden via the lovely French doors and also benefits from a SMART TV and en-suite bathroom.

Additionally, with it being located on the ground floor it should appeal to guests with limited mobility.

Upstairs are the remaining two bedrooms which consists of a double and twin (can be super king size double on request) layouts.

On the landing, between the two bedrooms is the second bathroom.

Outside there is a small seating area from which you could enjoy a book or glass of wine amongst the peaceful outdoors.

The garden catches sun all of day due to its Southerly position and is also fully enclosed making it perfect for pet owners.

There is also a hand-held hot shower for washing off your furry companions should you venture a muddier route.

Cubert is a small village that boasts charm and history, offering a convenience store, fish and chip shop and cafe.

Further along the coast is the popular seaside resorts of Newquay and Perranporth where you can find some of the greatest beaches in the British Isles.

It is also a hotspot for surfers too.

Explore inland and you’re sure to stumble into the vibrant city of Truro with a quality selection of eating and shopping choices.
