“This is the second time staying at the Sunset view, the first time was excellent hence why we booked it again this year.”
However, upon arrival it appears that the time taken to clean the property has been cut, or the cleaners are in the habit of cutting some corners. Some of the things we reported to Sykes was, dog faeces had been left on the decking area, mould found in the bottom of childrens cups and the cooker rings were dirty. Findind dog faeces on the decking area is totally unacceptable. I picked the mess up straight away as my 5 year old lad almost stepped in it. Sykes offered to come and clean the other issues however the cleaners arrived at 6pm whilst getting the kids ready for bed which wasnt convenient. During our stay we also found that the hot tub was full of dead woodlouse and had an oily film on the surface, giving the appearance it hadn'tbeen cleaned for a while. Again Sykes came round and cleaned the hot tub and refilled it, this was halfway through our holiday. Upon our last morning, and whilst cleaning up before leaving, my wife moved the door mat in the kitchen to sweep the floor. On doing so she found quite a few mouldy old crisps. It appeared previous occupants had swept their mess under the mat and the cleaner hadn't found them. Whilst I complained to Sykes at the beginning of our holiday, they were fast in rectifying the issues and they couldn't apologise enough. Whilst we had an enjoyable holiday, we won't be booking Sunset View for a third time.

On hearing that your son nearly stepped on dog faeces on the garden decking (which was regrettably missed) our cleaner was round within the hour to apologise profusely and clean up any mess missed. She felt so bad she even brought Cornish fudge for your son and a bottle of Prosecco for you and your wife as a way to apologise for her extremely rare oversight.
The hot tub I can assure you was professional cleaned by a specialist, as is the case for every change over. However, on hearing your unhappiness again, the cleaners went straight round and drained, cleaned and refilled the hot tub for you.
Each time, you had said you were appreciative of the cleaners efforts and that there was no problem and you were happy.

Sunset View, is our beloved family home and we take immense pride and care for it. We want everyone who stays with us to enjoy a 5 star holiday in a home from home holiday cottage.
