    “Spectacular location, amazing sunrises.”

    Very well equipped but could do with better heating in the bathroom ( it was December!). Owner, Stuart very helpful with local suggestions and welcome goodies. Spent a lot of time just watching tide and wildlife - seals, cormorants and very brave swimmers every morning.

When you're able to tear yourself away from the comfort of Rock Cottage, embark on a day exploring the Lost Gardens of Heligan, discovering the lush greenery and history this renowned spot has to offer.

Head to Mevagissey Inner Harbour and watch as colourful boats bob gently in the tide or take a leisurely stroll along the stone Mevagissey Harbour Wall, providing sweeping views of the sea.

Rich in history, Caerhays Castle is a captivating day's trip, boasting beautiful gardens and architecture.

Soak up the sun on the scenic Vault Beach, perhaps take a dip into the crystal waters, and wander to the National Trust site, The Dodman, to witness spectacular panoramic views of the Cornish coast.

MEVAGISSEY

St. Austell 5.5 miles; Truro 16 miles.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with narrow streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles) with its shipwreck museum, or among the tropical biomes of the world-famous Eden Project (11 miles). The stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula are a short drive down the coast while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and cathedral can be reached by car in half an hour.
