    “Really enjoyed our week at 1 Rock Cottage which is simple but sweet.”

    Perhaps the parking situation needs to be explained a bit more as we found it difficult unloading and re-loading the car at a distance, particularly for us oldies! Otherwise the beds are super-comfortable, there is everything you need in the kitchen...(we even baked our own rolls!), central heating a boon as it got cold towards the end of our stay. Proximity to the Coast Path a plus point.

Access to the cottage by car is restricted due to the narrow width of the lane.

We recommend parking on the roadside elsewhere in the village where the parking is unrestricted, and walking to the cottage.

Be welcomed indoors by the snug, an escape for a quiet evening with a good book or a competitive games night, before relocating to the sitting room, where you can unwind with the TV for entertainment in front of the woodburning stove.

Explore nature at its finest, with many local walks to be discovered, or take a day trip to Wadebridge, where you can take a stroll along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line now reclaimed for walkers and cyclists to enjoy or take a boat ride across the River Camel.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
