    “The house is ideally situated for a holiday by the sea with a beautiful sandy, accessible beach a mile away and country walks from the doorstep.”

    A few minutes walk away is a well stocked village post office providing all the essential items for a short holiday. Good characterful, gastro pubs are close by; quick access to main roads enable day trips to nearby towns and attractions. The house and its facilities are high quality. However, there is one significant complaint which I am sure can be easily rectified and will not detract from the property. The bottom step of the stairs is not carpeted and the oak finish to the step blends with ...

    A few minutes walk away is a well stocked village post office providing all the essential items for a short holiday. Good characterful, gastro pubs are close by; quick access to main roads enable day trips to nearby towns and attractions. The house and its facilities are high quality. However, there is one significant complaint which I am sure can be easily rectified and will not detract from the property. The bottom step of the stairs is not carpeted and the oak finish to the step blends with the oak colour of the flooring making it easy to mis judge when coming downstairs. Within the first 24 hours, my 30 year old daughter and, more seriously, my 70 year old husband both fell badly down the bottom step. My husband fell flat on the floor. Amazingly, in spite of having two replacement hips and a replacement hip, he only suffered shock and severe bruising to his hips. I feared that it could have been much worse. My daughter bruised and grazed her hip. Neither individual had seen the bottom step. We bought a bathroom slip mat to secure to the bottom step to make it more visible and to avoid further falls. It needs to be rectified before a more serious accident occurs, which I assume Sykes will ensure happens. My complaint shouldn't make anyone doubt the overall excellent quality of the property and its location.
