“We found the cottage comfortable, clean and well provided with everything you could need and more.”

It was peaceful, restful and well maintained. The hot tub was a blessed bonus and was well used. We loved the fact that the cottage was so old and not modernised, a true Cornish home. The bedrooms were light and airy and spotlessly clean. We loved all the homely touches, pictures, signs with lovely sayings, fish and beach ornaments. The garden had plenty of room to have a wander around and lots of outside things to do. It was all in all a very restful and enjoyable time for us. Thankyou

The property

Lying only a short drive from the azure seas and clean white sand beaches of Hayle, Gwithian, Carbis Bay and St Ives, Angarrack Farmhouse Cottages are the perfect choice for families, couples or groups of friends seeking a holiday close to one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in Cornwall.

A sleepy backwater well located to explore, they nestle on the edge of this unspoilt village with a range of activities within easy reach.

Watersports, challenging golf courses, gokarting, birdwatching and a host of attractions including famous art galleries, legendary Island Castles, gardens and wild life parks are all but a short drive away.

Sample good Cornish fare at the local Inn or venture out to one of the many fine restaurants tucked away amongst the bustling cobbled streets of St Ives.

The Christmas lights of Angarrack are a very special attraction and after a walk around the village you can return to the warmth of an open fire. Angarrack Farmhouse is an attractive white rendered farmhouse with its own large sheltered garden.

Guests will enjoy idling time away relaxing in the invigorating waters of a hot tub or having a leisurely family barbecue or picnic on a superb elevated deck.

Step inside and you will find a wealth of traditional character.

Furnished with a stylish leather suite the lounge retains an open fire for cosy evenings; pine furnishings and glazed cabinets full of china and nic-nacs add rustic charm to the dining room, while the adjacent kitchen is well equipped for ease of catering.

As with many old cottages the newly refurbished family bathroom is located on the ground floor and upstairs there is a smart new shower room and four comfortable bedrooms.

Stairs lead down to a cellar laundry room (beware low beam) with convenient access to the garden.

There is allocated private parking for two cars.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.

Low beam in cellar..
