“1. Tried to book the holiday online with many attempts over two days.”

Site locked up on the payment screen. Rang to book which was not straight forward and was surprised that I was dealing with Sykes and not Cornish Cottage Holidays. This could account for my Banks reluctance to pay. 2 The directions to the Cottage were wrong and did not direct us to the Cottage and we had to ring the phone number provided to try and find the cottage. We were surprised to find that we were talking to someone in the North of England who was initially reluctant to help “as she did not know the area” After persistence on our part she did manage to direct us. 3 On entering the Cottage we were greeted with a very damp and musty smell. Fortunately, we cleared this by opening all windows, but we could not remove the musty smell from the bathroom all week which made it uncomfortable. 4. The entrance and egress from the road to the cottage caused the car to bottom and damaged the underside. (We are awaiting a report from a garage and this could result in a claim) We spoke to people in the other cottages, and they said their agent had warned them of the hazard and advised them to enter from the other direction which we did with no problem. This all said the Cottage its self was excellent and location was good but obviously more care was needed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback we are delighted to hear that on the whole you enjoyed your visit. We are so sorry to hear you had issues with the payment process. We have discussed your other points with the property owners and on reflection of your comments have updated the directions, including the entrance approach in the hope this will help future guests find the property easier. You will see that all previous feedback is positive and there is no mention of a damp/musty smell, we do wish you had bought this to our attention during your stay so that we could have had this investigated for you. The owners confirm they have checked the bathroom upon your departure and were unable to find the smell you mention. Property Owner

A typically Cornish country village with picturesque houses, shops and village pubs, Goldsithney is set back from the coast, thus escaping the main tourist rush, yet lying close to all the main attractions. Dominating the area and just 2 miles away is the off shore island castle of St Michael's Mount - reaching it via the causeway when the tide is out is a must. Right on the doorstep there are fabulous beaches, the coastal path (winding its way over the cliff tops) and plenty of sailing and fishing. Visit Penzance, with its slightly bohemian air, the cliff-top theatre at Minack or the stunningly beautiful fishing villages of Marazion and Mousehole - a superb base for exploring beautiful Cornwall.
