“A great apartment.”

Well maintained and a lovely welcome pack. Helpful owners who told us how to use dishwasher. We were impressed with the manuals to help with equipment. Charlestown is beautiful setting and centre to visit various places in Cornwall.

The welcome pack was very thoughtful, thank you. The place offers easy access to Charlestown and the information regarding the local restaurants and places to visit was helpful. The mirror light in the en suite couldn’t be turned off but this wasn’t a problem as we closed the door.

“Very clean and tidy property.”

Exactly as shown in pictures. Everything we needed was provided. Only problem for us was the stairs as no lift which we knew but it was a bit of a struggle with suitcases. Also quite a hill from Charlestown to the property for people with mobility problems. Lots of lovely places round about to visit.

“The flat was immaculate and the facilities excellent and the beds so comfortable .”

Well located for attractions such Eden Project , Lost Gardens of Heligan etc and Tintagel Castle not too far. The harbour is a lovely place to relax and a 20 min walk to the apartments but quite a hill if you have anyone with mobility problems. We were on the second floor, so had a balcony which was lovely to sit out on .The photo and description on the website said that it overlooked the countryside, when if fact the first thing you see is the apartments car park if you are at the front and over the wall is the main road and the trees and a field behind the road!!! This was not mentioned in the description unfortunately, we probably wouldn't have stayed there if we had known that . The photo was taken in the dark from the balcony so you couldn't see the car park or the road, at times it was very noisy and could possibly increase during the holiday season. It was a disappointment but we still had a lovely time and couldn't fault the accommodation but doubt we will return due to that issue.

The facilties were as described and surpassed our expectations. We had a problem with seasonal flies on the balcony which was resolved by the owner and sykes. It is worth noting that for the less mobile the walk back to tyack from the harbour is a little steep.

“Wonderful apartment, perfectly placed within close proximity of Charlestown, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.”

Had a wonderful stay. Beds comfy, kitchen well equipped, two bathrooms an added bonus. One gripe - the fan in the ensuite bathroom clattered in the wind - all night - so we had to move into the the twin bedded room. No problem to us but would have been a real pain (and not sure what we would have done to solve it) if there had been four of us staying! Think it needs looking at/sorting out. The balcony was also unusable due to the swarms of tiny brown flies every afternoon. Not sure what they were (never seen them before) but there were MILLIONS of them!

Everything has been thought of, especially considering the ongoing Covid pandemic. We were very impressed with Covid security and felt very safe indeed. We have been coming to Tyack now for years and never tire of it. Its location is superb for travelling around Cornwall, but the best thing of course is this superb apartment. “This is a home from home for us and we have been going, often twice a year, for several years now, and that probably speaks for itself.”

It is in such an ideal location and we were blessed with wonderful weather the whole week. It was just lovely to get away despite this unprecedented time with Coronavirus. Becasue we knew the apartment well, we were confident we would be safe there. We enjoyed exploring the countryside which gave us Covid security, however if you like bars, coffee houses and restaurants, Charlestown has them all. Infact for the first time since we started going , "pop up" restaurants and bars have opened right on the quay side next to the tall ships, and in the evening with the string lights up it looked really atmospheric. We hope that this will continue when things hopefully get back to normal. We couldn't recommend Tyack highly enough, although we would really like to keep it as our own little secret!

The very best welcome package we have ever had. All equipment and fittings are to a very high standard. Great location too. Very quiet couldn’t hear any of the neighbours. - The wife had to clean the on suite shower before we used it. Boiler lost it’s water pressure and is very awkward to repressure. Parking is tight especially if inconsiderate neighbours don’t park between the white lines. None of these things would discourage us from staying here again though

“The Tyack is a really wonderful place to stay in Cornwall.”

Well positioned within right distance for the main attractions of the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan grounds. It is also well placed in within walking distance of the harbour and the grocery stores and restaurants as well. The accommodation was well laid out and very clean indeed. From the rooms to the toilets and the sitting areas and kitchen, a lot of attention was placed to make us feel at home, the WIFI was 100% functional during our stay and we really enjoyed the choice of DVD movies in stock both for the adults and the kids. We were also thankful for the wine and Cornwall Ginger bread welcome gifts to ease us into the accommodation as well as a very well setup kitchen as we did a few cooking as well! A lovely experience for all the family and we will definitely come in the future and stay in the accommodation. Well done!!

Lovely apartment which had everything we needed, lovely gift on arrival of biscuits, wine and milk. Great location, very quiet, we had numerous walks down to Charlestown harbour and beach, great restaurants and pub. Found an excellent beach at Porthpean, 5 minutes away, sandy and fairly quiet with a cafe in case you wanted a snack, drink or ice cream. There is easy access to all of Cornwall’s attractions. Asda and Tesco are both within a 5 minute drive. Can’t wait to return.

“Pros: This is a lovely, very smart, clean apartment and this was our second visit.”

Despite it changing ownership since we last stayed, nothing had changed and all the high expectations we had were met. There was a generous welcome gift of wine, biscuits, milk, tea and coffee which was greatly appreciated. The apartment is on the 3rd floor which means the balcony catches all the evening sun long after the apartments situated below. Within easy walking distance of Charlestown Harbour with choice of pubs. Cons: The main building door lock is temperamental and you need to slightly pull the key back out a tiny bit to get the lock to open. There is no lift.

The property

Ideal for a short family break or romantic weekend for two, this delightful second-floor apartment is well-located on the fringe of Charlestown on the South Cornish coastline on its doorstep.

A true home-from-home, this property is tucked away in a quiet spot near to the harbour while still not being too far from amenities of the village.

Starting off in the open-plan living room, you will immediately be drawn towards the balcony that hosts a great view over the countryside; the perfect spot to start your day with a coffee and the day's paper in hand.

Moving back inside, the well-equipped kitchen neighbours this homely layout and is complete with integrated appliances and a fine dining table.

Both bedrooms are well-presented; the king-size double benefits from en-suite facilities while the twin is served by the main bathroom.

From the apartment, there are some really special attractions within the area including the famous Eden Project and the of the Lost Gardens of Heligan to visit.

Walk down to the harbour where you can find The Shipwreck and the Heritage Centre that offer an insight into the the town's history.

Additionally, the harbour has been famous for its part in many film and TV projects, including the BBC drama Poldark.

The apartment is well positioned for exploration of Carlyon Bay, a spectacular array of three beaches and also the South West Coast Path and the viewing pleasure that it offers.

Newquay is slightly further afield but it’s spectacular choice of beaches, quality restaurants and other attractions make the trip worthwhile.

St. Austell 1.5 miles; Eden Project 2 miles; Truro 16 miles.

A delightful and much sought-after coastal village of stone cottages and Regency houses, on the south coast near St. Austell. Famous for its collection of tall ships riding at anchor in the harbour, the shipwreck museum, excellent pubs and restaurants and easy access to the coastal path, it’s the perfect holiday destination. It has even been used as a filming location, most well known for appearing in Poldark. The area is rich in golf courses with Carlyon Bay and Porthpean close by.
