“This was our second visit to Oyster cottage and it did not disappoint.”

Very clean and comfortable including the beds. Everything you could need if self catering although we tend to eat out. On site facilities and grounds are lovely too. Milk, tea and biscuits were appreciated.

“Very difficult, actually impossible to find at 11pm at night, no lighting and nobody answering any phones or emails.”

Parking at back door not realizing there is another front door, super stressful coming from the other side of the world and to feel sooo stressed. Perhaps a map board well lit up might help.

Thanks for feedback; we will move key box to rear door. We also have clear signs for name and number of cottage front and rear plus lights at rear to assist. We help guests if they phone but cottage is in a valley so signal for some networks can be poor. We really appreciate the 100% score and hope you will return. Property Owner

“Lovely bright and cosy cottage in great surroundings.”

Everything you need at the cottage. Clean and comfortable. Not a garden view but still a nice patio private area from double doors of the lounge. Pendra loweth is a great place to base your holiday. Quiet and near to 3 beaches.

the cottage is ideal for exploring Falmouth and surrounding areas, there are some beautiful gardens to explore. we had some nice visitors while staying here blue jay, baby rabbits, green woodpeckers and a kestrel.Thank you for helping to make this a wonderful stay.

“The cottage was lovely,and all was well although on stripping my bed at the end of our stay as requested I found that the mattress cover I had been sleeping on to be very badly stained and I cannot understand why this was not replaced with a clean one before our arrival.”

.also the pillows on the single bed I used were hard and old and needed replacing.there was only 1 towel provided per person with a hand towel left in each bathroom the bath towel was new but unwashed hence not a good drying towel and far too small.moan over a jolly good base for our little holiday would certainly book again

“Our stay at Oyster cottage was perfect.”

Location was ideal as our son lives in Penryn. The cottage was amazing. Spotlessly clean and really comfortable. The milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were a nice added extra. We slept really well in the comfortable beds and lounge furniture was really comfy too. Love the facilties on site and grounds are maintained to a really high standard. We will definately be back.

Very clean and spacious and up to date with the maintenance of the cottage as nothing was outdated about the property. Really well furnished down to the finer details which included plenty of boardgames for families, a pint of milk was waiting in the fridge along with tea/coffee and biscuits! We were visiting family in Cornwall and would definitely book back here again.

Location is absolutely amazing. Grounds and gardens are impeccable. Staff so friendly and helpful in the pub which was fantastic with beautiful views and food. Cottage itself very comfortable with everything we needed. It had a lovely feeling and everything was just perfect. We hadnt realised the cottage was in a purpose built park which was a lovely surprise, loved it here and will 100% be back to oyster cottage. Thank you.

Ideal location for walks on the coastal path, We walked to the beach (15 min) most afternoons after a full day out, for a swim and there was loads of water sports and equipment hire right on the beach. The cottage itself has a lovely sunny outdoor area for evening bbqs and equipped with everything you could need. Loved it and we will be back

“Location was brilliant but the cottage however was lacking.”

2 single beds were very small and teenage son struggled to sleep all week. Pillows on beds were flat as pancakes and duvet cover on double bed had a rip in it. Although kitchen was well equipped, certain items need to be replaced... chipped cups, chopping boards, glasses missing. The BBQ had not been cleaned out by previous guests and was mouldy... spent time cleaning it before being able to use it. Carpets need replacing on landing, very stained. Generally cleanliness was an issue, dust on stairs, skirting boards and bathroom cabinet. Cottage is tired and needs a bit of a revamp. Used Sykes on numerous times before and was very happy with our accommodation but this time felt it was not up to standards I would expect. Spent far less money on previous rentals and accommodation was far better... disappointing. Would stay at location again but would choose another cottage.

Thank you for your feedback - it’s always helpful to be made aware of any issues. We have replaced the chipped crockery and missing glasses. Unfortunately, some guests are less careful than others so we constantly deal with a wide range of problems. The ripped duvet cover issue has been reported to the house keeping company we use. The beds in the twin room are 3ft, which is the standard size of a single. Mattresses are always contentious so we have recently replaced these with a medium firm double and the singles are medium soft. In an effort to cope with wide ranging views on pillows we offer pillows in a variety of thicknesses. We are glad that you enjoyed the location and we would welcome you back. Property Owner

“Oyster cottage was clean and well-equipped.”

Being at the further end of the complex and in one of the side roads meant it was quiet. There was milk and biscuits as a welcome. Good sized rooms, lots of lovely pictures to look at and a comfortable bed. I couldn't use the patio as Cornwall was rather wet in the last week of September. I didn't use the facilities at Pendra Loweth (so can't comment on them) but enjoyed a walk around the site with its gardens and stream. The owner contacted me during the week to make sure everything was okay which was a nice touch. Being middle of terrace it was warm though I did need heating for one day (residue of a hurricane across the ocean) and would have liked more detailed instructions on using the storage heaters - how the dials work etc (never having come across them before). Also I wasn't so keen on the narrow, twisting access road to the site but got used to it after a couple of runs. All-in-all a good place to stay.

The fact that it was only a couple of miles from Falmouth town centre also a bonus. The kitchen had all the equipment that was required to cook various meals whIch we made use of most days. “We had a great week in Oyster Cottage.”

Superb facilities and excellent location for exploring and making memories. The house was clean and tidy and had everything we could need. We were given a pint of milk on arrival and there was tea / coffee and Cornish shortbread which was such a lovely gesture. The owner contacted us during our stay to check it was satisfactory and gave us some recommendations and chance to ask questions. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Such a pretty location and perfect for our needs. Thank you.

The only fly in the ointment was the bed, it would have been better if it was a king size and a more comfortable mattress, my husband slept well but I found it difficult to sleep.

“We enjoyed Cornwall, of course, and our best trips were to St Ives and Porth Leven.”

The weather was glorious and our best meal was at the Shipwright Inn at Helford. The house had everything we needed, was clean and attractively decorated with lots of pictures on the walls. We liked the private area with table and chairs outside the patio doors. All in all an excellent holiday in a very pleasant comfortable cottage.

“Could not use the grill without being smoked out.”

The single beds could not be slept in due to bad mattress. This was both beds. Not acceptable if more then two people.
