“Not very dog friendly at all, trying to get to the dog field a tractor came and we had no room to get through, owner very helpful, but the way to the field was covered with brambles.”
Someone cutting the lawn at the back while i was in the shower . Not very private, I booked the cottage because I wanted to be alone after family problems, the owner was trying to be helpful, maybe I should have said i wanted to be left alone. beige carpets for a dog with muddy paws i had to put blankets down . Also not allowed to leave the dog in the cottage, not even when i went to the shop, so don’t know what i was supposed to do with him. It was a lovely place, spotless and great views, nice garden, it would have been perfect for two people . But dog fields were not great, one had cows in and the other was hard to get to, If you just want to get to the beaches and take your dog there it was great.. Couldn’t fault the cottage and the bed was comfortable .
This response is saddening and surprising as we have many guests with dogs who love it here and many repeat bookings. We are in a rural area, the lanes can be narrow but the tractor drivers are always considerate of dog walkers and horse riders. Guests are made aware that we garden on Wednesdays, don't look through windows and never start until late morning. We supply quilted covers and dog towels and dog owners can also use the hose and tap at the top of the drive for cleaning paws. There were 7 emails between us and the guest, very friendly in tone, and we understood that a crate was being brought for the dog. We say in our details for dog owners that dogs may be left in crates for short periods of time. There are no brambles between the two field gates, the cows (4 little adults & 3 calves) were contained behind an electric fence leaving 3 acres for guest use. We apologize if the guest felt we invaded her privacy. No indication was given that she wished to be left alone.
