Robert “A really perfect and delightful cottage for the two of us.”
It is very clean, very comfortable and just gorgeous. It is also much nicer and more spacious than the photos suggest. The kitchen is compact and it has everything you might possibly need. We happily prepared a number of meals. The other rooms were all fantastic too. The bathroom and bath with a view was most welcome after a long walk. We found it pretty easy to walk down to St Ives (we are both in our seventies) and we either walked back up - or caught the bus. The 16 is great but the 2 ...

We found it pretty easy to walk down to St Ives (we are both in our seventies) and we either walked back up - or caught the bus. The 16 is great but the 2 also gets you up the hill and then it's a short walk back up and across the fields from the big car park near the Coop. The parking was fine - although slightly more of a challenge in the pitch dark. We enjoyed our week here very much indeed. Thank you. We hope to return.

Keith “We very much enjoyed our stay, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.”
However, entering and particularly leaving the driveway was quite hazardous. Perhaps a mirror across the road and some 'concealed entrance' signs would help. The steps leading onto the field from the back garden were rather tricky to negotiate; maybe these could be made easier to use? Overall a very clean cosy, peaceful cottage in a lovely area; an ideal base to explore this part of Cornwall. Many thanks.

The only little niggle really entrance and exit(Could do with a trim to make it wider) to the field to get to the quieter road to walk into st Ives that’s it The cottage is fantastic Many thanks D
- David, August 2024Wright “Absolutely beautiful cottage.”
.has everything you need. Would highly recommend a stay here
- Wright, July 2024Matthew “Fabulous little cottage for two, beautifully presented, immaculate and spotlessly clean.”
Thank you for the essentials to start off our stay. The cottage had everything we needed for a base, big bedroom, nice conservatory to have meals in and even a little garden for a sundowner. Great fun climbing through the tiny door into the always warm conservatory. Yes the reverse up the drive wasn't for the faint hearted, but approach from St Ives end when the road is clear then drive down to the cottage and reverse in, do not swing out to get a better angle as the traffic coming the other way is blind, but don't let this put you off we had a big SUV and managed no problem.
- Matthew, July 2024Andrew “We cannot fault the property, it was a lovely cosy cottage, with everything you need plus more.”
It was immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean. We had lovely weather for our stay so made full use of the conservatory and cute little garden. Ideal as a base to visit the southern tip of Cornwall and we loved Mousehole and Porthleven especially. The only negatives were getting on and off the drive onto a very busy road. Definitely best to approach from the St Ives direction and reverse into the drive. Also the walk into St Ives is not a gentle evening stroll, but a fair trek for anyone who struggle a bit with walking, plus it's all uphill on the way back ! We found it best to walk across the moorland at the back of the property as the as the first part of the road from the cottage is dangerous. The footpath opposite the drive was overgrown.
- Andrew, June 2024Christian “Thank you for hosting such a beautiful cottage in a perfect location.”
The facilities and cleanliness are faultless - home comforts and everything in place for an enjoyable break. We enjoyed every part of the accommodation - the conservatory and the garden too. Such a peaceful location. We were able to jump on the bus by the church to head into St Ives or walk in within 20 minutes. We will be coming back..
- Christian, June 2024Paul “The cottage was lovely, just what we needed.”
Only problem is getting off the drive as you said, just a suggestion if possible to get a mirror put up by the council on the bend , so you can see what is coming down & up the road.
- Paul, May 2024Julie “The property was lovely.”
It was modern, had everything you'd need, clean and well presented. The scones on arrival, milk, tea and coffee was a real surprise and very much appreciated. The only downside was getting on and off the driveway. I wonder if a mirror opposite the driveway would help.
- Julie, May 2024Joanna “Perfect cottage!”
The cottage is beautiful; decorated to a very high standard and very comfy and cosy. I went in March and the cottage was lovely and warm because the central heating is excellent. I had a fire using the log burner each night for extra cosiness. Parking space is provided with the property. Everything I needed was there; all china, pots and utensils in the kitchen and there was a Cream Tea and stuff to make tea/coffee with, which was very welcoming. The cottage was perfect for exploring St Ives and the surrounding areas. I went to Penzance, Land's End, Porthcurno, Padstow and Mousehole. I loved the cottage and will book it again if I return to Cornwall. A perfect holiday stay! (Note for the owners: a clothes horse to dry washing would fit in the cupboard under the stairs, for when it's too wet to dry clothes outside.)
- Joanna, March 2024Amanda “Absolutely perfect cottage.”
Comfortable and cosy. Everything we needed there. Location was really close to St Ives. Parking which others have mentioned is a little tricky but we have a large and new to me car so that didn’t help. That said I would have stayed there for a month if I could. Will definitely return! Thanks
- Amanda, February 2024John “The only issue is the location i am a fit person aged 71 but you cannot walk the paths stated in the cottage information brochure even talking to the locals they said the same the local pub up the road is virtully impossible to get to especially in the dark winter nights and the path opposte the cottage is the same and i think the owners should try and cut the hedge and make the steps outside the back a bit easier to climb over the cottage itself was lovely and cannot fault it but would not return in the winter months.”
- John, October 2023Jonathan “We had a lovely week at Sanctuary Cottage.”
The cottage was very cosy and everything was spotless. The scones on arrival were a nice touch and the welcome pack was very informative, as it explained the route to walk into St Ives (and lots of other useful tips).
- Jonathan, September 2023Steven “An absolute gem!”
!! We came completely stressed and left feeling serene and recuperated. There is something quite special about this cottage. The place was clean, cozy and had the little touches like scones, cream, jam, tea coffee a pint of milk etc that made it above and beyond. The only downside was the parking, coming backward up the drive on a double blind spot was an issue and there was no way to walk into town as no path either side and we really didn't fancy walking on the road into traffic. Apart from this it was amazing. Thank you.
- Steven, September 2023Denise “We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage, but definitely return and recommend it.”
Had every you need, would like to say would be helpful that you put more about what is provided, for example iron/ ironing board/ washing up items/ hairdryer, has I didn’t know these where provided I took these things with me ( except ironing board)
