“We were sceptical about the property based on previous reviews, but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.”

The house was clean on appearance, but having 2 young grandchildren with us, we did have to hunt for lost toys under furniture etc throughout the week - and I would say these were not pulled out and hovered under/ dusted for some time! The house was clean on appearance, but having 2 young grandchildren with us, we did have to hunt for lost toys under furniture etc throughout the week - and I would say these were not pulled out and hovered under/ dusted for some time! Though this did not impact our stay. I think important for the owners to know. The hot tub is definitely not being maintained properly. We have a hot tub at home. It appeared clean (apart from a few bits of debris/sand which you’d expect) but after just one use , the water started to go stagnant (green and smelly!) on Sunday / Monday. My husband checked and cleaned the filter (it had clearly not been cleaned for a considerable period of time) and we brought some chlorine with us from home (based on previous reviews) so were able to use again the next day! A contact number for the maintenance people or advice in the property booklet and access to chemicals would be helpful here! Every other property we’ve stayed in send out a maintenance clerk to check the levels at least once during our stay. Again did not impact our stay, but I’m not sure what agreement the owners have but worth checking? Being Christmas and a large family we had a LOT of recycling. We tried to take it to the local recycling centre but as non residents were not permitted to use the facilities. Again some information on where to leave this in the handbook would be helpful here. Other than these few things, the house was well decorated with lovely furniture, and kitchen had everything we needed. Great location!
