“Such a lovely apartment, with excellent views and a brilliant position, very close to buses, trains and shops.”

Only one very small negative, which I was surprised about. The info stated that 'towels and bedding are supplied' and I've never stayed anywhere which said that but didn't include the kitchen items!! Therefore I did not take a kitchen towel, a dishcloth or a teatowel, and none of that was provided, which was extremely awkward. It surprised me even more because it seemed everything else had been thought of - they are provided milk, biscuits, condiments, teabags, sugar, washing-up liquid etc - ...

The apartment was an absolute pleasure to be in, and a small food store and various pasty shops, etc were within a few metres from the apartment. There were even plenty of coathangers, a coat rack, a torch (should there be a power cut), books, dvds, ...... Would I stay there again? Absolutely! Beautiful apartment! Thank you.

“Lovely apartment, a real home from home.”

Looe is a beautiful seaside town. The apartment is in an ideal location overlooking Looe bridge; we enjoyed seeing the tide come in and out and loved people watching from the bay window. The owners have great taste in furnishings, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful. The owners were excellent communicators and very responsive to queries. Walking distance to lots of places. Highly recommend this property.

“Location is excellent, nice apartment just needs some attention detail, toilet door doesn’t open properly it sticks on the tiles, kitchen worktop is very sticky, shower screen doesn’t close properly, just knock it slightly and it opens, some dead insects on the roller blinds when pulled down.”

Apartment has plenty of cutlery & crockery. When coming up the steep steps from the road during the evening the sensor light doesn’t always come on.

I have been in touch with Colin and thanked him for drawing my attention to the issues he experienced during his stay (please see his response below). The bathroom door has been trimmed and a new shower screen strip fitted. the worktops have been sanded and re-oiled. The outside lights appeared to be working on my recent visits but it has been reported to out property management company to be checked. “This apartment is in an ideal location for access to Looe town, riverside and beach all within minutes walk.”

It is clean, modern, well maintained and has lovely views over the river and Looe bridge. The owner is very helpful and only a phone call away. The large main council car park is only an eight minute walk away. It can be booked for as little as £25 for seven days via Cornwall council website. Once arranged you can enter and leave the car park as many times as you like as it is ANPR opperated. Will definitely return.

“A lovely centrally located apartment.”

Its location close to the Bridge means all the Restaurants on both sides of the river were equally accessible within a short walk. It was very easy just to sit in the bay fronted window or on the balcony and just watch the world go by. Certainly an excellent base to enjoy Looe and the surrounding area. The apartment itself was immaculate and everything you needed was there. Thank you.

“What a fantastic property to stay at location and property is fantastic and most of all the view of balcony.”

The apartment was ideal for us as we had taken our 2 grandchildren and dog so getting straight into town was so easy. The apartment as everything you need for cooking your own meals if choosing not to eat out and a little dishwasher to save you the washing up after. The beds were comfy as was the bedsettee the grandkids told us. This is a must place to stop at if visiting looe town so would like to thank sykes holidays and the owners who were both contactable if any issues happened while staying at property.

“We had a lovely holiday at the harbour view apartment, it was very clean and tidy and furnished and decorated to the very highest of standards.”

We had a small problem with the hot water on our arrival this was quickly remedied by Sykes and the owner who had the problem fixed within an hour which was very impressive. All in all we had a wonderful weeks stay and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and Sykes cottages in the future.

Decor and finish are very high quality. Service brilliant - We rang the night we arrived to say there were not enough towels - First thing the next morning - towels on the doorstep. You can't ask for better than that. We would definitely recommend to friends and family

Lovely owners, great communication and clearly take pride in their home from home. My mum stayed in this property on a family break and she loved it. Thanks so much. Would definitely recommend the property though due to a recent poor experience on another booking, I couldn’t recommend Sykes.

“The 'slope with some steps' was actually a very steep slope with very deep steps.”

Our older dog could not manage them which meant we could hardly go out. In fact my husband and I found them really hard work too. Especially with luggage. The apartment itself was lovely but we would not have booked if we had realised that crampons and oxygen were needed to get to the front door.

I am sorry you found the access to Harbour view apartment difficult, there is an note on the listing with the following information- Access to the apartment is via a sloping pathway with some steps Once inside there are stairs to the first floor entrance The property therefore will not be suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. “An exceptional apartment.”

So comfortable and homely. Excellent location. Brilliant views of the harbour - spent many an hour watching the boats, both on the balcony and inside. Loading and unloading a bit of a problem with the steps to the building and up to apartment but with welcoming bottle of wine and biscuits, this more than made up. Would highly recommend.

“Flat was lovely and great location.”

FYI if you’re at all scared of birds or just don’t like them this is not the place for you! The seagulls pecked at the windows and they along with the pigeons roost behind the bedroom so it’s very noisy and a bit icky.

“The apartment as usual was really good clean tidy and everything we needed for a wonderful holiday .”

Which we enjoyed very much The only downside was the very scruffy and dirty downstairs hall , it was full of rubble rubbish and dirt that we had to walk by ever time entering and leaving the building.near the front door ,it looked like a new entrance was being made and sawdust and litter was left to stride over.,This was being walked up the stairs but someone had tried to clean it up without moving the mess. We were there 10 days and we saw no workers working on what looked like a renovation of this ground floor flat, this mess and rubble should have been contained inside the flat keeping the hall clean and tidy for all other occupants using the building.i think this situation should be complained about by the flat owners not a good look when entering this doorways. We are assured by the building owner that the work in the downstairs flat is now complete and the rubble on the patio of this flat has been removed. Some internal re-decorations to the hallway are still required and these will be carried once this can be achieved without further inconvenience to residents and future guests. Property Owner

We slept well every night as the bed was nice and comfy, something that is usually a problem when you travel. Congratulations on making this a real 'home from home' apartment it's been a pleasure to stay here. We sat on the balcony a few times to watch the world go by with a glass of wine.

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
