Presenting a delightful retreat in the small hamlet of Hicks Mill, this lovely ground-floor property rests next door to the owner's home, enjoying a perfect setting for a romantic retreat.

Chycoose is ideal for a couple's Cornish getaway and is a great base from which to explore both the north and south coast of Cornwall.

Enter into the handy utility area where a washing machine and freezer provide added convenience, and make your way into the lofty and bright open-plan living space, where an inviting crushed velvet sofa offers a relaxing spot to settle in before the large TV.

Dine at the pretty bistro dining table, with a meal for two prepared in the stylish kitchen to impress your partner, or in warmer weather dine alfresco in your very own enclosed garden.

Offering a lovely, private spot to enjoy a morning coffee too, you can begin and end your day here in the sun.

Move back through the glass sliding doors and to the fantastic bathroom, home to a double shower enclosure, with contemporary blue feature lighting in here, making use of the quality, fluffy towels after a hot shower.

Head to sleep in the elegant bedroom, home to a wooden framed double bed and a pretty dressing table, with lovely shutters allowing you a morning lie-in.

Find all the shops and pubs you need within the civil parish and village of Perranarworthal, and take a wander in the opposite direction to the Bissoe Nature Valley Reserve by the River Carnon, for a local natural beauty spot.

Explore on two wheels with cycle hire available from Bissoe Cycle Hire where you will find a cafe for refreshments before cycling up to the North Coast for a day beside the beach.

Portreath, with a delightful stretch of sands is a surfing haven and where walks along the Godrevy Heritage Coast along the South West Coastal Path, allow you to take in the amazing sea views.

For a day of excitement, visit the Stithians Reservoir to find Stithians Lake Watersports Centre, offering a host of fun activities, including canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and fishing all on the lake.

You can also take a leisurely stroll along the nature path, a nearly five mile circular route, or choose to cycle off-road to see the area.

Visit the bustling town of Falmouth for arts and culture, with Falmouth Art Gallery home to a wondrous array of artwork and exhibits, while some local history can be discovered an Penndennis Castle, where the top of the keep provides stunning views across the estuary, and the National Maritime Museum presenting exhibits.

PERRANARWORTHAL

Mylor Bridge 2.7 miles; Falmouth 5.8 miles; Truro 5.9 miles.

Perranarworthal is a small village in Cornwall set alongside the River Kennall. The village has a local inn, cricket ground and lovely church. Less than a mile away is Perranwell Station where you will find all the amenities you could need, with a Post Office, village store, and a local railway station from which you can travel to Truro and Falmouth. Mylor Bridge, just under 3 miles away, is a sought-after and picturesque village at the head of Mylor Creek that runs up from the Carrick Roads, the World’s third largest deep water harbour. Boats and sailing, wooded creeks, softly gliding water, riverside pubs and fabulous gardens epitomise the area. This friendly village has a superb selection of local shops (try the fresh fish!), a Post Office, a good pub and several restaurants within easy reach. The nearby harbour town of Falmouth with its exciting Maritime Museum and its castle, beaches and marina makes a great day out while the Cathedral city of Truro famous for its cobbled streets, theatre, museums and vibrant shopping centre should not be missed. Take the car, or a boat from Falmouth, for a trip up the stunningly beautiful Helford River and while there, call in at Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens for the horticultural treat of the year. The area is perfectly placed too for exploring the rugged cliffs, sandy coves and fishing villages of the Lizard Peninsula, also The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are both within an hour’s drive.
