The property

Set in a tiny hamlet in the heart of the Tamar Valley, is this beautiful detached cottage.

Lovingly renovated, this former chapel enjoys charming features dating back to 1864, wrapped in green plantings and offering a luxurious interior for you and your loved one.

Nestled between the towns of Liskeard and Callington, you have access to the colourful harbour at Looe and historic fishing port at Polperro.

The rural surroundings only add to the appeal of the property, with an interior full of character.

Walk down the gentle slope, which is lit up at night, and enter into your well-chosen accommodation for two.

You will be welcomed inside by the high vaulted ceiling, stained glass arched windows and original pulpit in front of the stairway.

The open-plan living room boasts a well-appointed kitchen with sleek wooden worktops and bespoke units, whilst the lounge offers Chesterfield sofas to sink into.

Enjoy cosy evenings by the fire, before heading up to the king-size bedroom.

Considered lighting uplifts the space elegantly, with a window seat adding to the features.

From here you can access the sparkly bathroom, brought together with all-white hues.

Outside you can bask on sun loungers, or indulge in alfresco dining, whilst the gas Weber barbecue can offer tasty lunches on the terrace, overlooking stunning views of the open fields.

Nearby is a pub, post office and convenience shop in Callington, as well as Kit Hill towering above the Cornish town, from here you can enjoy views across South East Cornwall.

The large village of Calstock is dominated by its 11-arch Railway Viaduct and well worth a visit, if only to explore the National Trust's Cotehele, a medieval house home to gardens, a quay and a working mill.

Liskeard is just fourteen miles away with further shops, pubs and restaurants, along with a weekly market, whilst Looe boasts cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and a lovely beach adjoining the pier.

Frogwell Chapel is a unique and romantic getaway for two not to be missed.

About the location

CALLINGTON

Tavistock 9 miles; Launceston 11.5 miles; Plymouth 14.6 miles.

Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are fabulous views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound. Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers a good selection of shops, inns and cafes, as well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties. A few miles away, the quaint village of Calstock clings to the steep banks of the river Tamar and is dominated by the splendid Calstock Railway Viaduct, a giant 11-arched stone construction supporting one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines running through the Tamar Valley. Other interesting places along the river are Cotehele, a beautiful historic house and gardens owned by the National Trust with a small quay and inn, and Morwhellam Quay, a theme park that staged a living history production for the BBC and where visitors can explore the rich mining heritage and watch blacksmiths, potters and craftsmen at work. The pannier market town of Tavistock is only nine miles from Callington and is well worth a visit on your way to a day’s walk on Dartmoor. A splendid base to explore south Cornwall and West Devon.

Please note : The drive to the property is steep, the owner would suggest reversing. Note: There is a narrow path leading to the front door. Note : There are steps leading up to the bedroom.
