We really enjoyed our stay even though there was only 2 of us & our dog this time! The house is always clean & comfortable with good facilities throughout the home. The views are also fantastic! & the location is very local to the shops. Parking wasn’t a problem this time of year either, we managed to park right outside all week. Only negatives for us is we found the mattress seemed quite worn where it dips in the middle & Sadly the sofa looked quite stained on arrival & it generally feels a bit worn now. The owners are contactable if required & are always helpful. I’m sure we will be back again next year! Especially as we got to see the fireworks at the harbour from the living room window!!

Beds were very comfortable and all bedding and towels were of good quality. In terms of parking, we used the Belmont long stay which cost £14.80 for a week. As we were out of season, we had no problem getting a parking space upon our return after we had been out for the day. There are 3 flights of stairs inside the property, and an outside set of stairs to the property. My elderly Mum struggled a little bit but managed for the week. We had envisaged that she would sleep in the ground floor single room with en-suite but the en-suite only has a shower snd she was unable to do that as she needed to access toilet facilities in the night. Overall we had a very nice stay.

The house is gorgeous and well appointed. However we had huge issues with parking, despite previous reviews saying how easy it was for them. Two members of our party have mobility issues and we were led to believe the long stay carpark was a few minutes away. For these people, it was a 15 minute walk each time and we all had great difficulty entering and exiting the carpark. Despite having bought weekly permits, we had to press the help button each time to get the barrier raised. On two occasions there was no response meaning we had to buy tickets and then deal with the issue the following day. It was very stressful and we won't be returning for this reason.

Gavin “Fantasy property excellently locate in Newquay.”
Overlooking Towans beach and the harbour with amazing views across the coastline, the property is well located for all beaches in Newquay. It is a short walk to the town centre. The property itself was immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable. Well set up for exploring the beaches and water based activities the house has a small enclosed court yard for storing equipment and a utility/boot room for sandy shoes and clothes. All rooms are well sized with comfortable spacious beds. The most amazing part of the property for us was the terrace overlooking the beach and harbour which proved to be a popular place to unwind and share family meals. A real gem in Newquay. Cannot recommend highly enough. Will book again.

The facilities are amazing, local amenities. Sainsbury’s just over the road, restaurants within a minutes walk, amusements & beaches also. The view from the lounge is amazing, sea front beach view lovely to wake up too in a morning. would highly recommend looking forward to booking again for hopefully next year. The apartment has absolutely everything you’ll ever need in there, can cook meals with no problems with all the cookery in the kitchen, the terrace is great, amazing sea front views all day everyday especially in a morning watching the sunset.

Mary “This house is in an absolutely perfect location.”
It's big, across 3 floors with lots of stairs. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need, we cooked a full roast dinner while we were there. The beds are comfy...mattress a little too soft for me but that's my preference. The views are outstanding and the roof terrace was well used while we were there. Check in and out was easy, parking not being at the house isn't an issue at all. Would definitely recommend to all. Lovely week! Thank you!

It's main draw is the beautiful view of the harbour and beach from the lounge, stairs, bathroom and main bedroom. We kept saying 'what a view!' The kitchen is extremely well equipped for cooking at home and the oven cooked a great birthday cake! The balcony is a great space for chilling with a morning coffee. The decor is creative and the home is very warm and comfortable; a real home from home. Great location for visiting Newquay and we couldn't have asked for more. From a very happy family who will be back.

It’s comfortable, clean & homely. We really feel at home there & the views & location are perfect for us & what we like to do when on holiday. Only a couple of small bits I would like to see in the home which includes perhaps a shelf in the main bathroom to put wash bits on when having a bath & maybe some extra cleaning products such as antibacterial wipes & some bleach to keep toilets clean throughout the week. Other than that a lovely stay again.

Leah “Our second stay at this beautiful house in a perfect spot in Newquay with gorgeous views.”
Located at the Harbour end of town the house is a home from home with all amenities required and is close to numerous bars, restaurants, a choice of beaches within walkable distance and also has a supermarket across the street. The house has no parking but due to it being our second stay we were aware of the problem with parking in central Newquay so the family members who drove prebooked private spaces in the area (10 minute walk from the property) using the ‘Your parking space’ app which made the parking hassle free also as cars could be used but guaranteed the space upon return. Would stay again and would recommend this property.

Gill “This was our third year at Sailors Rest- it really feels like home from home for our family.”
It’s a lovely, comfortable place with a large lounge, kitchen, diner perfect for socialising and hanging out together. Brilliant views and convenient location make it great for all age groups where you can enjoy a walk along all the beaches in the bay or pop to the shops, bars and restaurants equally easily. We hardly use our car and park a short walk away for the whole week (£15) so not having a parking space isn’t a problem for us. Not doubt I’ll be booking again for next year.

The apartment was lovely and spacious and the balcony made the stay even better, also stocked with enough cooking utensils etc to be able to cook & eat at the apartment when we wanted. The location is ideal as it's minutes away walking to the beach and very near to shops and restaraunts including a Sainsburys across the road. Couldn't have asked for a better place for a lovely weekend away. Thanks a lot.

I loved that you were able to provide us with a highchair and a travel cot, as this definitely helped us travel lighter. We came at a different time of year this time, so noticed a difference in the heat, so would say Summer is the best time to come. The oven didn't work (just the light came on, didn't heat up) and one of the showers was unusable as you couldn't regulate the temperature. Only bringing this up so it can get fixed, the rest of the place was great and would definitely return.

There were a few bits we noticed that we didn’t notice last time which were Some Mould in en suite & main bathroom The Temperature still not working in main shower so couldn’t use it which was disappointing & my daughter was scolded! Which wasn’t good.. the last time we stayed in May we couldn’t use it either as there was a leak I believe? The carpets could do with a clean The tumble dryer takes like an hour and a half if not longer to dry anything which was a pain as it’s a cold time of year Blind in en suite bedroom has some holes in it Kitchen one the hem has come down & lastly the Mattress’s in the single beds were not very comfortable & looked worn. ( but the double ones are amazing!) Generally just looks like it could do with a freshen up after a busy year! They were not a major inconvenience to us as we had a wonderful stay again and would love to book again for next year..the location for us is spot on which is why we came back and generally a really lovely house to stay in feels very homely and we love the layout! Roof terrace has the best views Over the sea! Parking wasn’t a problem as out of season so literally was just down the road a little. Sad to go home but would like to see the minor bits sorted and the shower at a reasonable temperature for next time! We will book again for sure

Property quirky with lots of thought going into making it a fab place to stay. All adult party and our dog. Loved everything about it from the roof top terrace to the dog basket at the entrance with safety gate. Fair amount of stairs but kept us fit. Parking not a real problem as two car parks nearby that are 24 hours. Would definitely stay again

I was concerned about the property when I saw it from the outside and had not realised it was above a shop. Once inside we were very pleased in the high standard of cleanliness and comfort. I would suggest you make it clearer that it is placed above a shop and can be very busy in the area. However, we enjoyed it and would recommend people to stay here if they can cope with so many stairs! Thank you

Matthew “This property has no ground floor accommodation unlike the listing and no patio area!”
Under no circumstances book this property of you have young children or you are not firm on your feet. You have to go up 2 external flights of stairs to get to the front door, so if you have a child’s buggy or a wheelchair it’s borderline impossible. It’s not Ground floor, 1 and 2, it starts on level 2 and goes to 3 and 4. Oven broken, shower does have an temperature control amongst other issues, reported to Sykes and the Landlord and they are doing their best to deny responsibility and ignore us. They tried to say the listing states external steps and over 3 floors, it’s does, but it also says ground floor accommodation and patio suggesting there are 1 or 2 steps not entire flights of narrow metals stairs, as far as I am concerned it’s misleading. When they say no parking they are no kidding either, you cannot park long term within 4-500 metres of the property and you have to block the harbour road to get close to the property to park to unload your vehicle. Would never book again and would highly recommend not staying here unless you are a group of adults! As far as I am concerned it’s a avoid. That’s both the landlord and Sykes I wouldn’t use again.

Gill “This is our second stay at Sailors Rest and enjoyed it every bit as much as the previous year.”
The location is excellent with beaches, shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The spacious kitchen and living spaces make for some very social meals times and the terrace is a great place to hang out on nice days/evenings. I'll love my morning cuppa sat on the terrace looking out to sea and watching the sun come up (on some days !). There's comfy beds and plenty of bathroom space too. The property is well managed, always cleaned thoroughly and offers great value for money. Although there's no onsite parking there are several options nearby and as many things are within walking distance we didn't need to use the car much at all. Have re-booked for next year- cant wait.

We all had an amazing holiday. Perfect location. The property lived up to expectations. Very well equipped kitchen, large living area, extremely comfortable beds. The view from the balcony is amazing!! The only down side, as mentioned in other reviews, is the lack of parking. We did find a safe car park a few minutes walk away so it wasn’t a major issue. Would highly recommend.

It was so close to the town, beach and attractions so great for younger children. The welcome shortbread and teas and coffees etc were very thoughtful and it was great that there was handwash and tea towels etc provided too. We've been to Newquay a lot of times, and this is definitely the best property we've stayed in. The location is amazing, with spectacular views over the bay, and very convenient for the shops and restaurants in the town centre. The house was modern, clean and inviting, and most importantly very comfortable. The only downside was the lack of on-site parking, which meant having to pay extra for the nearby long stay car park, but that's understandable given the location. We'll definitely be back.

We were very pleasantly surprised how this beautiful house looked and also by the amenities it offered. It was truly a home from home in a perfect location with the most stunning views of the sea to wake up to each morning. The only negative, if we were to find one would be the fact that it doesnt have its own parking. This, however didnt pose a problem to us as we parked the car on a side street not too far away and we hardly had to use the car for the rest of the week. The property was more than adequate for a big family and a dog, the sea views were amazing, Everything is right on your doorstep, we found the space more than enough for us all, wouldn’t hesitate to book again, my only little complaint would be the steps outside going up to the property, very steep and could be slippy, my dog struggled to get up them.. maybe some strips of artificial grass would make them safer. Overall best place we have stayed so far!!

My Mum would have struggled if she'd of had to have done it more than once a day. Property itself is lovely and the upside down style makes full use of the gorgeous views. Outside tap was a bonus for the kids paddleboards. One thing that would have been useful to have is some plastic cups/plates for our younger children. Everytime they used a glass I panicked that they were going to smash it. We had a very lovely time at Sailors rest!

The accommodation itself is just brilliant for a family beach holiday. As you come in there is a small but secure outside area with a hose to clean off your sandy feet and big enough for us to store 2 sit on kayaks and a surf board. Go into the property and you are in a utility area where you can pull off wetsuits etc to avoid taking mess into the apartment. Bedrooms are large and airy but the real feature is the top floor where there Is a good sized kitchen diner and a lovely sunny roof terrace with views of Towan Beach and the harbour. Position wise it’s perfect. Slap bang in the middle of town. It’s 3 minutes walk to the harbour and Towan beach which is a good family beach and 10 minutes to Fistral Beach. Right opposite there is a Sainsbury’s so It’s easy to pop across to get any shopping.

The 2 double beds are described as Kingsize but are definitely smaller than that. The fridge is too small for a property for 8 people. Everything else was wonderful, loved the location and the interior design.

The location is perfect with just a short walk to the harbour and the beautiful sandy beach. Sailors Rest itself is just the perfect Cornish holiday house. The views are breathtaking. Travelling as a family of 7, I was a little apprehensive about the fact that there was no parking at the property, but the nearest long stay carpark is a three minute walk up the road and I was easily able to purchase a weekly ticket. Thank you to Vicky, who couldn’t have been more helpful in the run up to our holiday. Sailors Rest was all we imagined it would be and more. We hope to stay again in the not too distant future.

This holiday home is located above a corner shop conveniently located close to the centre of newquay and also an easy walk to Fistral beach. Fabulously thought out interior design,great roof terrace overlooking the sea and a fully equipped kitchen plus very comfortable beds make for a great holiday base. Would definitely stay here again

There is absolutely nothing we would complain about, on the couple of times we contacted the owner he couldn’t have been more helpful. This house had everything we could possibly ask for, it even had a large dog bed, dog bowls and outside shower to wash away the sand. The location of the Sailors Rest is perfect for the beautiful sandy beaches, it was lovely having a glass of wine on the roof top terrace watching the surfers. Its an easy stroll into the town, although we had most of our evening meals in either The Fort or The Red Lion which is right on the doorstep. We would definitely give The Sailors Rest five stars.
