“One of the best equipped and well presented properties we have rented.”

Located on a hill it does have a steep driveway but it overlooks the tidal creek in a quiet and very picturesque area. There is easy access to Truro, Falmouth and beyond.

“We had a week of terrible weather, but that didn’t dampen our spirits !”

The house was easy to find and it does have a very steep, narrow drive - but this caused us no problem for our one large vehicle. The house was in a lovely position and was very clean and the beds were super comfy!. The dining chairs had slippery covers over them which were annoying to sit on and the chairs beneath were in a bit of a worn condition. It would be nice to have sofas uncovered and not covered in throws. Maybe that’s my personal view ? Everything you could want was provided. We met the owner once and she was very nice and helpful.

“House was perfectly clean and comfortable and very well-equipped (best we’ve stayed in in terms of kitchen implements etc.”

) The location is great with a fantastic view. Drive tricky to park on with a very tight bend. Outdoor space can only be accessed through a bedroom or by going around the outside of the building. There was no information left about the property which would have been appreciated. Owners were lovely but very close for comfort - could be heard through the wall and very visible on site which at times made us feel a little uncomfortable.

“Rathillet is a lovely split-level accommodation with amazing views across the estuary from the lounge/diner and master bedroom.”

The home has a double bedroom and bathroom downstairs with little balcony. There are 2 further double bedrooms on the main level (one of which can be made up as a twin), along with a shower room and kitchen. The fittings and furnishings are of a very high standard and the home is very well equipped. Anna the owner is friendly and available if you have any queries. She provides lovely extra touches in toiletries, washing products and ensures milk and tea and coffee are there for your arrival. Rathillet is in a great spot for exploring. Truro is nearby with all its amenities as is Falmouth. You can easily visit the Roseland, as well as the Lizard and St Michael's Mount and other areas. The drive down is steep and took a bit of getting used to with a larger vehicle. However it wouldnt stop me coming again. We had a great week and hope to return. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

“We had a super week staying at Rathillet- the gorgeous weather helped too.”

A definite home from home with everything we needed (still no tin opener unfortunately). Only niggle from a personal view is the patio area can only be accessed from the downstairs bedroom.

“This is a fantastic house with outstanding views across the creek.”

We were so pleased that we managed to extend our stay. The equipment provided was exceptional, everything possible had been thought of and the scones, clotted cream and jam left for us was a lovely addition. The only thing missing was the information usually provided about operating the appliances. The house was so peaceful despite the building works across the road. You cannot see any of it when in the house as almost all the windows face the other way, ie over the creek, and we were not aware of any noise while we were there. Would thoroughly recommend. “We thought the property was fitted out to a good standard, and the quality of the equipment was very good.”

We had a great time and the views from the property far exceeded what we expected from the descriptions We were disappointed that there was no guide to the property, the various appliances etc, and some hints about where to visit and eat.. We appreciate in the reaction to Covid such material was withdrawn, but surely it can be circulated as pdfs etc or stuck in laminated sheets. We were disappointed that the washing machine (almost new) didn't work. We accept that the "workaround" solution offered was very helpful. One minor point - we couldn't find a tin opener. Finally lovely comfortable beds, sheets and duvets

The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable and every utensil required for cooking our evening meals was provided and at hand. It was the perfect base to explore the many attractions in and around the area.

“We had an amazing week here.”

The house was clean with everything you needed to be a home from home. The beds were amazingly comfortable and we slept well as this is such a peaceful place. The home is in a beautiful quiet setting, overlooking the water. We loved being able to sit watching the tide going in and out. It feels remote but is only 15 mins to Truro and easy access to the rest of Cornwall. Trelissick gardens is nearby and King Harry’s ferry is a great way to get down to St Mawes for a visit. There is a lovely pub (The old Quay Inn) about 20mins walk away. The hosts were very helpful and accessible but were unobtrusive. It was a perfect place for our family to stay

“We booked at the last minute for a week at the end of August and were very impressed.”

The house is spacious, arranged over 2 levels with fantastic views from the upper level across the water. Well equipped with everything almost brand new and perfect for a family holiday ( 2 adults + 2 teenagers). The wifi was very fast so you could potentially decamp for a couple of weeks or longer to "wfh". As mentioned there is building work across the street but the noise was minimal and no issue for us. The owner lives next door and was very pleasant and helpful. We used the house as a base to explore and drove to various beaches and further south. The fish shop at Mylor is a real find - recommended. Overall we had a great holiday and would definitely recommend the house.

Rahillet is a splendid house nestled in a raised position with views overlooking part of Restronguet Creek, settled on the outskirts of Feock, Cornwall.

Not far from the attractions of Truro and Cornwall’s magical south coast, this delightful holiday base is a welcoming choice for friends and family.

Split over two floors, on the ground floor you’ll find the kitchen, where you can cook up a delicious dinner with the help of the many handy appliances within, before continuing through to the bright and airy living/dining room, with quaint furnishings and creekside views, it offers a lovely space to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

From here you can step out onto the small decked balcony, perfect for enjoying a well-earned drink following a day of rambles, before retiring to either of the three bedrooms.

The master hosts a sumptuous super-king-size bedroom, while across the hall lies a twin room (that can be super-king-size on request) and a shower room, or wander down to the lower ground floor where you’ll find a king-size bedroom and bathroom, offering a bath and shower over.

Sliding patio doors from the downstairs bedroom lead out to the lower patio, providing further seating for alfresco dining.

Pack your bucket and spade and head down to Loe beach, resting just 1.5 miles away, where you can lounge on the sands, splash in the water or test yourself at a range of watersports.

The vibrant city of Truro is within easy reach, home to some must-see attractions including the stunning gothic cathedral, the National Trust’s Trelissick Garden, with stunning floral displays and strolls along the River Fal, the magnificent Royal Cornwall’s Museum, with an extensive mineral collection and Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm, where you can taste delicious cider and bring the children to see the farm animals.

Explore further afield towards St Agnes, boasting a beautiful plethora of beaches and excellent surfing conditions, or visit Falmouth, home to the award-wining Maritime Museum, Falmouth Art Gallery and Cornwall’s largest fortress, Pendennis Castle!

Steeped in history and intriguing architecture there is always plenty to do and see. Just meandering through the Georgian cobbled streets is a pleasure in itself. With many peaceful parks all within a short stroll from the centre it is a most relaxing city to visit. A wonderful day trip can be had from Truro to Falmouth along the stunning Fal estuary with many options to disembark and pick up the boat later along the scenic river trip.
