Geoffrey “Alovely cottage in an excellent location.”
Very friendly and helpful owners, who have clearly thought through all the various things that guests need. No hesitation in recommending this cottage very highly.

The owners were very welcoming and cleaned the cottage to a very high standard. Place was warm, great layout for a family of three, with off-road parking for one vehicle.

Stephen “We loved the cottage.”
It had everything we needed and was in perfect condition. We would recommend it to anyone.

John “The owners David and Canada were great, ensured everything was ready and welcoming on our arrival, milk , biscuits and prosecco were a nice touch.”
Cottage was clean and cost, and a great base to explore the lovely area with all its beaches and coastal walls, we were also blessed with lovely weather all week. The area that the cottage was set is rural and quiet, the use of their field was great to walk the dog first thing. Would recommend this cottage

Jenny “Thank you Candea for a wonderful week tho the weather could have been better we had a super time and your lovely terrace cottage with its gorgeous garden is so well made inside with the wood and belies your husband's skill in boat building.”
thank you

Philip “No hanging for long garments in upstairs cupboards, otherwise fine”
- Philip, August 2024 -
Nuala “A beautiful 19th century cottage lovingly restored.”
It was very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The countryside view is lovely. The cottage garden is very pretty. Every was maintained well. We would like to go back.
- Nuala, August 2024 -
Graham “Had I known the route to the cottage involved navigating a mile of single vehicle track every single time you left the property I would’ve found alternative accommodation.”
I drive a large vehicle and this daily challenge took the shine off the holiday. Also both pathways both front and rear are overgrown meaning the front entrance could not be used at all and we had to use the lawn to enter the property from the rear. Aside from this issue the cottage itself was lovely as were the owners
- Graham, August 2024 -
David “Lovely cottage and the hosts were very welcoming.”
You won’t regret booking this one. It’s quiet, clean and the beds were very comfortable and we found it a really good base to see Cornwall. Kitted out with all the stuff you may not have brought for cleaning, etc.. Only thing to note, the 2nd room has a sky light which hasn’t got a blind to prevent morning sunlight coming through and to high for a black out blind - meaning the kids were up even earlier! Apart from that the cottage was perfect.
- David, July 2024 -
Shirley “This was our second visit and it didn’t disappoint everything was clean couldn’t as for anything more”
- Shirley, June 2024 -
Akvile “Lovely cottage in great location, we will definitely be coming back.”
- Akvile, May 2024 -
Wendy “Superb holiday accommodation; a delightful stone-built eco-friendly Cornish cottage, beautifully renovated/rebuilt.”
Owners are local, and exceptionally kind and helpful. We stayed for 2 weeks and had barely touched the surface in terms of fabulous walks in the area. We alternated days exploring beaches, coves and NT properties etc., with no-car-day walks from the cottage with our dog. Just a joy to stay there. Do visit the Cornish Barista, just up the lane, as often as possible and check out the amazing whisky and gin stocks in Constantine. We loved Halvasso.
- Wendy, April 2024 -
Ian “Having been let down and disappointed a number of times.”
It was refreshing to find somewhere we wouldn’t hesitate to stay in again. Very clean. The property is very well equipped with everything you would need for your holiday. The owners have put a great deal of thought and effort into making everyone’s stay as comfortable as possible. They were extremely helpful. And friendly

Em “This was a lovely, traditional, cosy cottage.”
We loved all the beautiful pine wood inside and were absolutely over the moon to find a CD player, DVD player and board games - we made extensive use of all of these as we only play music through CDs and only ever watch DVDs! Everything in the cottage was perfect for us - so PLEASE DON'T CHANGE A THING!

Marion “I would highly recommend this lovely little cottage.”
It was very well equipped and provided a cosy and comfortable base to explore the Cornish coastline and AONB. The secluded garden was perfect for our little sausages, and the log burner was a great plus too. Candia and David were great hosts.
- Marion, October 2023 -
Olly “A cute & cosy cottage, perfect for a couple with a furry friend, or a small family.”
Lovely and secluded while being within a 10 minute drive of the nearby town. Hosts were lovely and really went above and beyond - being present while never imposing on our privacy. Would definitely recommend!
- Olly, October 2023 -
Liesl “Lovely cottage”
- Liesl, October 2023 -
Stephen “We had a fantastic holiday staying in this lovely cottage, our hosts were friendly and welcoming and left a bottle of Prosecco & a box of biscuits on our arrival.”
The garden and the surrounding area is quiet and very beautiful. Would definitely recommend. Steve Emma Sue & Jim.

Sarah “Thank you for a wonderful stay in your lovely well equipped cottage.”
It was lovely to meet you both and we all had a great time. Very best wishes Sarah and Mark

Dawn “The cottage was absolutely lovely, and had everything you could possibly want, the owners were also lovely , and the milk cookies and Prosecco were a lovely touch and very much appreciated.”
Very pretty cottage garden, and very secure for our dogs, we were made to feel very welcome and would definitely visit again if exploring Falmouth area.
- Dawn, May 2023 -
Adrian “Beautiful quarrymans cottage in a quiet hamlet a little outside of the hussle and bustle of Penryn/Falmouth area but only a short drive away.”
Very clean and well equipped, owners very welcoming with bubbles and biscuits! Gorgeous wood burner and granite fireplace plus parking and pet friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay eating in as well as out! Only thing missing was a full length mirror!!
- Adrian, April 2023 -
Clare “Great little cottage - with everything we needed - already booked another stay in june”
- Clare, April 2023 -
Matthew “We had a very enjoyable stay owners live in the same lane and took the trouble to say hello when we arrived and anything we needed just to ask the cottage is home from home everything you need it’s definitely a fabulous base to explore Cornwall and take note and reed the owners folder on where to visit you won’t need to go much further than that st Ives is as beautiful as ever getting rid of rubbish and recycling is very easy and helps the owners turn left out of the cottage straight to the end of the lane turn right half mile on the right is a public rubbish and recycling only 5 mins from cottage thanks again .”

Paula “We had a fantastic stay at Halvasso.”
The cottage was very comfortable, warm and cosy. We really enjoyed use of the log burner and everything you may need was thought of even down to a lemon squeezer! The dishwasher and washing machine made the stay practical and minimum fuss also. Beds were very comfortable and i would thoroughly recommend staying at the property and am likely to return in the future. Candia and David were perfect hosts and on hand if required. The location is also superb for exploring both the North and South Cornwall coastline and at just over a mile off a main road was not difficult to access. An excellent property.
- Paula, February 2023 -
Robert “It was very nice and cleand very nice pepole”
- Robert, December 2022 -
Geraldine “We first went to this cottage about 15 years ago and have been there 4 or 5 times.”
For various reasons we haven't been able to go back in many years but it was always our favourite and we finally got to go again and we still loved it. It hasn't changed a bit and really felt like coming home. The owners are brilliant, left lots of nice treats (thank you so much) but more importantly popped over instantly when we thought we had an issue with the heating. Their customer service is second to none. It remains our favourite cottage.
- Geraldine, November 2022 -
K “Halvosso cottage lived up to our expectations with good quality furnishings and fittings.”
Adequate space for us and our two dogs and a lovely welcome from the owners who were on hand if needed. A great little retreat.
- K, October 2022 -
Paul “Lovely hosts.”
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Home from home. Can't wait to return.
- Paul, October 2022 -
Janet “Fabulous cottage, well appointed, comfortable and superbly clean.”
Perfect location for visiting Falmouth, Lizard Point and the beautiful Helford River. The hosts are delightful and on hand if needed. Two minor points - the steep step down to the cottage was dificult for me as have minor mobilty issues and this was not mentioned in the listing. The cottage is perfect for two adults, maybe three, but 4 would be a bit of a squeeze as second bedroom very small.
- Janet, September 2022Hello there. We have passed your comments onto the owner for review. They may consider adding a rail to the outside steps. We discussed with the owner and feel that the cottage is represented accurately in the advertisement. Property Owner

Charlotte “We had a great stay at Halvass.”
The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring and has lots of extra touches to make you feel at home.
- Charlotte, September 2022 -
David “Very comfortable cottage in a location that’s great for walks from the doorstep as well as easy access by car to many lovely places in this part of Cornwall.”
- David, July 2022 -
Marie “The cottage was very nice and we had a lovely welcome.”
David and Candia are very good hosts and were on hand if needed. Very quiet location and you will need a car, but it is a great base for visiting Cornwall.
- Marie, June 2022 -
Stephen “Quaint cottage and a beautiful cottage garden although access down the path restricted due to overgrown bushes and plants.”
Step down from garden to back door large which can make it difficult for people with mobility issues. Shame about the front garden not being usable as it would make a lovely sun trap when the weather is good. Didn't feel very dog friendly with the number of restrictions in place despite paying a lot of money for the privilege of bringing our dogs.. Apart from that the owners are lovely people who went the extra mile to ensure we felt welcome. Would definitely recommend this cottage as the comments above are merely our opinion of our experience during our stay and in no way are meant to convey anything other than that.
- Stephen, June 2022 -
Kenneth “Stunning cottage with everything you could possibly need there.”
Very welcoming host , would definitely recommend this beautiful little cottage to anyone
- Kenneth, May 2022 -
Bernard “One of the best cottages we have stayed in really comfortable, relaxing and had a genuine happy atmosphere.”
Well equipped and the owners Candia and David were really friendly and helpful. Our 3 dogs loved the garden and being granted use of their field was a big plus as allowed the dogs extra freedom off lead We really enjoyed the holiday and would highly recommend
- Bernard, May 2022 -
David “The cottage is beautifully clean and very well stocked.”
Flowers and the consumables provided were very thoughtful and made the initial evening pleasant. The master bed is a little hard but nothing major however the headboard is incredibly creaky and makes a lot of noise with even minor movements in the bed. We solved this with a pillow pushed behind it however it did wake us on the first night. Overall a fantastic stay and we would recommend the cottage. P
- David, March 2022 -
Amanda “We really enjoyed our stay.”
The cottage was very cosy and comfortable. Very well equipped we didn't need anything because everything was provided. Philip and I would definitely recommend staying at Halvosso as it is so close to some lovely beaches and our dogs loved it too.
- Amanda, February 2022 -
Rebecca “The cottage was beautiful and spotlessly clean.”
It is extremely well equipped with everything you might need, it is a real home from home. The location is great, set in peaceful countryside whilst being just a short drive to the beaches, restaurants and shops of Falmouth. There is a large Supermarket just a 5 minute drive from the Cottage. The owners were very welcoming and on hand should you need anything, not that we did.
- Rebecca, October 2021 -
Sheila “Extremely well equipped and clean and very comfortable tiny cottage - perfect for two single or one couple and child.”
Dog proof garden. Parking for one car OK but not very easy as small space. Very helpful and friendly hosts. One suggestion: A map of local footpaths/bridle ways accessible from the cottage!
- Sheila, October 2021 -
Tanya “This beautiful little cottage is immaculately clean and comfortable and the owners have provided everything you might need during a stay.”
The owners also live nearby and you can immediately feel that the place is well loved and maintained by them. We were welcomed on arrival with some lovely flowers on the table, a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge and some local biscuits to sample - perfect! The cottage is situated in a wonderfully quiet area but is only a short drive away from Falmouth and has good access to many other locations in Cornwall. Would absolutely 100% recommend.
- Tanya, October 2021 -
Stephen “The owner was very helpful on arrival, there was a nice bottle of Preseco and cornish biscuits on our arrival.”
Lovely clean cottage and very near to local beaches and places of interest. Flambards victorian village well worth a visit. Definitely a 10 out of 10
- Stephen, September 2021 -
Jacqueline “Candia & David are Brilliant Hosts, very welcoming,we had a problem with the cooker, the fuse tripped and blew the element on it,David quickly ordered another one and fit it.”

Kay “In the details of Halvasso Cottage, it should explain that the second bedroom with two single beds is particularly small!”
The two beds are against the wall on each side and space down the middle for you to access your bed is about 5/6 inches! Therefore only one can get into bed at a time! There is nothing in the details of the cottage to say that there is no wardrobe and no cupboards or drawers! The only hanging space is one hook on the back of the door. The room is also so small that you actually cannot shut the bedroom door as it cannot get past one of the beds. We had to share our friends wardrobe and drawers in the main bedroom. Very difficult as we had to ask our friends if it was ok to come in and put our clothes away and, in the morning, to ask if it was ok to come in and get out our clothes in the morning. There is no room at all to leave clothes on the floor, not that we wanted to do that! Our shoes we left in a bag in the lounge to try and make life a little easier! I would suggest that the cottage is only suitable for a family with small children or just one couple. If a family has two children of age, say, 11 or over, it would be too small. As the access to the cottage is from the back where you park the car, the path down the garden to the back door is overgrown with lovely roses and flowers but, if it has been raining you either walk through the wet grass or brush past soaking wet roses and bushes to get to the door. It is a small thing but annoying if raining. We did mention it to the owners when returning the key but the gentleman said that his wife loved the beautiful bushes, roses etc. Access can be made at the front of the cottage but as the car is parked at the back, it makes more sense to use the back gate. The lounge and kitchen are absolutely fine, comfortable and clean, it is just the upstairs and maybe some garden maintenance would help! I hope this feedback is helpful to you and would appreciate your comments.
- Kay, June 2021Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. The owners carefully monitor the comments from their customers and will always take the appropriate action based on the general consensus of opinion. Property Owner

What more could you wish for?

Andrew “A fantastic cottage, clean, superbly equipped and tranquil.”
Extremely comfortable beds and a homely sitting room. The garden was colourful, peaceful and secure. We enjoyed an excellent relaxing holiday. The owners were extremely helpful and kindly left a much appreciated welcome pack.
- Andrew, June 2021 -
Tris “This is a beautiful well equipped cottage and, whilst a little remote, there is a great coffee shop and bistro (open during the day) within easy walking distance.”
The owners were super helpful and when there was a small problem with the cottage this got remedied quickly and efficiently. Thank you for allowing us to stay, it was just what we needed coming out of lockdown 2
- Tris, December 2020 -
Domini “The cottage was beautiful we were left a bottle of wine, Cornish biscuits and a fresh milk which was very thoughtful after a five hour journey.”
The hosts could not do enough for us and were only across the road. Fresh towels were in the cottage off road parking. Cottage was homely and spacious. Would certainly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay again. The location is rural and a car is needed to get about.
- Domini, October 2020 -
Paul “Gorgeous little cottage with so much character.”
Well appointed. Very welcoming owner. Would definitely book again
- Paul, October 2020 -
Luke “We really enjoyed our trip to Halvasso cottage.”
The cottage itself is well presented with a good selection of items to make it feel like home from home. We particularly appreciated the efforts the owners put in to accommodate us having a baby and also the Covid related measures necessary at this difficult time. The bottle of wine, milk and chocolates on arrival, together with the owners both popping round to check we were OK were also greatly appreciated. In terms of location, if you stay here, the Pandora Inn and Herron Inn are both relatively close and good pubs to visit. Kynance Cove is further away but a must if the weather is good. Trelissick Gardens and Trebah Garden are also both close and great for a picnic in the sun. I'd also say book early and rent a boat on Helford River. It's a great way to see the stunning Falmouth estuary which is on the doorstep of Halvasso. Thanks for a great stay. Best.
- Luke, July 2020 -
Wendy “Halvosso is a superb cottage, everything was to a very high standard.”
The owners have put a lot of effort into maintaining a lovely traditional and comfortable cottage. Would definitely stay there again.

George “Great cottage and location.”
The facilities are brilliant and the cottage is immaculate. A great week away.
- George, October 2019 -
Clare “A lovely cottage , really helpful, relaxed and friendly owners.”
There was a big enclosed field that we could exercise our dogs in, which was very useful. The second bedroom was a bit small for our teenagers, more suited to younger children. Very peaceful yet near to Falmouth, the cottage was a very nice place to stay .
- Clare, August 2019 -
Jacqueline “Beautiful Quaint Granite Cottage, situated in Halvosso, 2 bedrooms would suit small”
- Jacqueline, July 2019 -

Mats “Very friendly and helpful owners.”
Good placing for driving to gardens in Cornwall.
- Mats, April 2019 -
Gloria “Fantastic owners it was a shame we had to leave so early as we would have liked to have said goodbye.”
They could not do enough for you Cottage was so comfortable and had everything we needed. My only concern was the single room two adults would struggle as once the second bed was up there would have been no room for anything else. I had nowhere to put my clothes but apart from that it was gorgeous
- Gloria, March 2019 -
Chris “The cottage was more than we expected.”
The owners have thoughtfully restored it with plenty of home from home comforts. A real gem.
- Chris, March 2019 -
Maria “Very nice owners nothing to much trouble.”
Nice gift pack on arrival. Not very close to a pub you have to drive a lot to get anywhere that was there only downside
- Maria, February 2019 -
Michael “Deep into Cornwall, in a tiny Hamlet, an artisan cottage sensitively and beautifully modernised.”
Packed with high quality equipment to make one's stay both relaxed and entertained. A short distance to both Truro and Falmouth, well supplied with restaurants to meet all pockets and tastes. Close at hand to romantic coves and sandy beaches; this cottage has everything going for it. The bonus is warm and friendly hosts, full of good information but keeping a very low profile. We were at Halvosso for Christmas, the stay being enhanced by a pretty Christmas Tree and a jolly log fire. We wholeheartedly recommend this wonderfilled cottage !
- Michael, December 2018 -
Stephen “The cottage was cosy, and well-positioned.”
The owners were on-hand, friendly and helpful.

Sandra “Lovely cottage.”
Well equipped. Comfortable sofas and bed. Homely and welcoming.
- Sandra, July 2018 -
Debbie “A lovely cottage in a beautiful location.”
It had everything you could possibly need a real home from home surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was a very rural location down some very narrow lanes. Guests need to be aware parking is very limited and the space small. If you have a larger veichle please check before booking. Although the owners appear to live locally and would most probably have an alternative parking arrangement. The ideal location for a restful break.
- Debbie, July 2018 -
Neil “Very pleased, cottage really welcoming and very clean, with lovely touches and very well cared for with every facility taken care of.”
The owners are very welcoming and go out of their way to meet all your needs.Garden was the icing on the cake ...great.
- Neil, June 2018 -
Paul “Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.”
Will definitely go back
- Paul, June 2018 -
Jacqueline “The cottage is in a lovely location.”
When we arrived we had been left a bottle of wine by the owners. A very nice gesture. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. The owners had multiple leaflets about places to go, things to see. The lounge and dining area were spacious, two lovely, bright bedrooms. Bathroom and kitchen were very nice. The cottage was very clean. Thankfully the owners had left important phone numbers in a file as my dad took I'll whilst we were there and needed a Doctor. We had our two dogs with us too. The back garden was perfect for them. But, as an added bonus the owners let us use their field everyday to give them a run off their leads. We would highly recommend the cottage, and we look forward to returning soon. Definitely a 5* from us.
- Jacqueline, June 2018 -
Margaret “A really lovely cottage in rural setting but well placed for visiting Falmouth, Truro, Eden Project etc.”
Very nicely furnished, comfortable bed and well equipped. Owners are delightful and it is definitely a cottage we would return to.
- Margaret, May 2018 -
John “Overall the cottage was OK .”
However I would not have booked if I had known how far from the main road down basically a farm track the property was . Also the second bedroom really would not fit two adults so it needs mentioning on the part of sleeping four . Staying one week also became a challenge for storing clothes as the wardrobe space is inadequate to say the least . We are retired and average ten breaks a year and felt disappointed this time . We left after five nights Thursday 10th of May and checked into a hotel for the last two nights .
- John, May 2018 -
Jane “The cottage was absolutely perfect for myself and my partner.”
We were welcomed by an amazingly clean and well equipped cottage. We arrived quite late at night and found the kitchen cupboards stocked with teas, coffee (and lots of other essentials) not to mention the milk and chilled wine in the fridge and delicious Cornish biscuits!! The log burner makes the cottage so cozy, we loved it!!
- Jane, April 2018 -
Kate “Lovely cottage.”
Very cozy. Fitted with everything you could need. A real home from home. Location was perfect for us. Really liked the wood burning fire, proper sized bath towels and mugs. Nothing missing from the kitchen. One reviewer in the visitors book said they brought everything including the kitchen sink with them, and didn’t need any of it. Spot on! Very friendly hosts. Garden ideal for our small dogs. Would definitely consider booking this property again. Property says it sleeps 4 but I think that would be a tight fit for four adults. Dog owners should note that dogs are required to sleep in the kitchen overnight.
- Kate, March 2018 -
Adam “We enjoyed the few walks we had, which was cut short by the snow, but the Host were very friendly & helpful, will certainly be coming back in the future.”
- Adam, February 2018 -
