The property

The Roost is situated in the quiet rural Hamlet of Killivose less than 1 mile from the outskirts of Camborne.

The Roost is a wonderful annexe property perfect for couples looking for a romantic retreat amongst sandy beaches and plenty of coastal lands to explore.

As you head on through the front door of The Roost you will enter an open-plan living space, containing a kitchen, dining, and sitting area in one, it’s the ideal spot to unwind next to the fire with a hot chocolate in the winter months, and be sure to let in the sound of the bird songs from the garden in the summer months through the open door to the patio whilst indulging in a celebratory glass of wine with your loved one.

Take it in turns to cook for each other over your romantic getaway, with the kitchen containing everything you could need to prepare those all-time favourite meals.

The bedroom is tastefully decorated with pretty pastel florals with matching decor, it’s an idyllic setting that lets you unwind ready for the day of adventure ahead.

In the mornings, be sure to take your breakfast outside to your private patio, fit with an impressive furniture set, it’s a lovely setting to kick-start your day, you might even like to visit the owner’s Eurasion eagle owl in its aviary.

The immediate area is peaceful and perfect for spending a warm afternoon exploring the surrounding settings before heading into the bustling town of Camborne, boasting an array of shops, eateries, and bars to unwind in it’s a great place to spend a weekend evening amongst the friendly locals.

Camborne and the surrounding area is steeped in Mining Heritage including the King Edward Mine Museum - it is also home to Trevithick Day a steam power and music festival held in April.

The Roost is ideally placed for exploring West Cornwall from its central position – Just 3 miles to the North Coast and the sandy beaches of Gwithian , Porthtowan and on to the quaint village of St Agnes. Or travel just 3 miles to the South Coast for Porthleven, Praa Sands & Marazion to walk the stone causeway to St Michael’s Mount. The Lizard Peninsular is just 15 miles and Land’s End only 21 miles.

Slightly further out you can find the beautiful Godrevy Heritage Coast, with plentiful activities including wondrous walks and scenery, sandy beaches to explore, and fun for all the family, it’s a marvellous must-see whilst in the area.

Camborne lies in the heart of a former mining community and was well known for its “Queen of Cornish Mines" - the Dolcoath copper and tin mine, the deepest in Cornwall. Today, Camborne is home to Heartlands, a community space covering 19 acres and scattered with remnants of the mining industry, providing a free space for visitors to explore the heritage of Cornwall, browse art and craft projects, stroll through the gardens and sit and share a picnic or enjoy lunch at the Red River Café. From Camborne centre you can follow an interesting town trail, or spend the afternoon in the museum before visiting the array of shops and pubs. A short drive from Camborne brings you to a wealth of sandy Cornish beaches including Portreath, Gwithian and Porthtowan. Camborne is ideal for exploring Land’s End, the Lizard Peninsula, Truro and the Eden Project, which are all easily accessible by car, ideal for a day trip.
