The property

For rest and relaxation or a coastal walkers paradise Pixie Cottage is an idyllic bolthole for a fantastic getaway, all year round (you can even bring your 4 legged friend!) Tucked away in the quieter part of the town (West Looe) the cottage is all about the view - and what a view!

From the first floor lounge and second floor bedroom you get a panoramic spectacle of the harbour, the town and the open sea beyond. Upon entering the cottage you immediately appreciate that despite its age and charm it does not lack in modern, creature comforts; the well laid out open plan kitchen / dining area provides the perfect spot to enjoy a lazy breakfast, or a romantic meal.

If the weather is inclement, then the log effect gas fire set into the Cornish slate surround will add to the atmosphere created by the cottage. Stairs rise to the first floor, superbly appointed lounge, where you can relax in front of the tv after a hard day sightseeing; though why would you bother with the tv with views like this to enjoy. On the second floor you will find the king size double bedroom, where the view just gets better and more spectacular.

On this floor you will also find the modern bath room (bath with electric shower over).

The town, the harbour and the superb sandy beaches make Looe a very popular coastal retreat, and Pixie Cottage is superbly located to take advantage of all that the town and surrounding area have to offer; take a short walk into town to enjoy the myriad of pubs and restaurants lining the waterside, offering local produce and traditional ales.

Superb, sandy beaches are just a walk away, and many are dog-friendly year-round (but please check locally). This being Cornwall you obviously have endless stunning coastal walks in both directions or alternatively hire a cycle and discover the scenic woodlands.

Further afield are the famous Eden Project andl Heligan Gardens, each offering a superb day out. For rest and relaxation Pixie Cottage is an idyllic bolthole for a getaway, all year round.

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.

Please Note: there is no outside space at this cottage.
Due to the nature of the stairs this cottage is strictly adults only - sorry no children of any age.
Car parking for 1 car has been arranged at Millpool Carpark (5 - 7 minutes walk away). In order to take advantage of this you MUST supply the owners with your vehicle details VIA EMAIL at least 3 days prior to arrival. Failure to do so will render free parking impossible.
The cottage is located on a narrow lane to which vehicles do have access.
