“Bramble cottage is where you want to stay if you have a car and want to visit Falmouth, Cornwall and its surroundings.”

At least that is what we did and it was perfect. The location is in a quite private residential area surrounded by nature yet only few minutes drive to Falmouth and the main roads. The facilities in the area are well maintained. We had a few games at the pool table and the restaurant makes a very good pizza. The property is well maintained, cosy, comfortable, well fitted, warm and very clean. The touch of the welcome cream tea was very much appreciated. I might advise hooks behind the bedroom and bathroom doors and a stool and shelf in the bathrooms. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. Tony & Vittoria

“Only two things need repairing downstairs toilet seat was off the hinge and en-suite extractor fan does not work even though the light was on .”

Would have been helpful if told where to take the rubbish from the house not just remove it when leaving.had a lovely stay enjoyed the house and the cream tea on arrival. Maybe a list of recommended restaurants /beaches would be a good idea just as helpful information about the area. Would recommend this property happily to anyone.

Everything what we needed as a family . Lovely welcoming touch, of scones, jam ,cream and milk . Beds were very comfortable. Nice to have games in the cottage for family time. Would definitely return again and recommend to others . Only downside was extractor fan not working in en-suite bathroom ,and limited parking if you come in more than one vehicle ( one numbered space outside property ) .There is unmarked spaces on site which are a short walk away ,if these are available . However this would not prevent us from returning again & we would definitely recommend to others .

It is really comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The scones, cream and jam on arrival was a nice touch. The outside space is good, probably among the best on the site. And the Wi-Fi connection was really good, which is important these days. We didn’t use the cafe/shop but did use the gym which we found very good. All in all a great place to stay and would certainly recommend.

Lovely touches such as the afternoon tea products, milk, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, cleaning cloths etc. were very welcome.The holiday site is well landscaped and enjoyable to walk around. Convenient for all area attractions. Only downside for us was wi fi and phone signal very spotty so couldn't research places to go while inside the property but signal good at the cafe on site. This didn't detract from our enjoyment of the cottage and would recommend.

“Lovely property in a good location for Falmouth and a good base for exploring Cornwall.”

We had 2 teenagers age 15 and 18 with us so didn't use the small pool on site but did use the gym which was a good addition. The cottage has everything you could think of, it was like a home from home. The bathrooms could do with modernising but that's personal preference the main thing was that everywhere was clean. The scones, jam, clotted cream and milk were a lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Falmouth.

The cottage was clean and in a lovely area. And the cream tea left for us was a really lovely gesture. The village was beautiful and our little girl loved the play area. But just a bit of feedback, The hot water was incredibly hot you couldn’t let a child wash their hands alone as it comes out extremely hot. The extractor fan in the en suite didn’t work. Also the en-suite shower would stop working half way through use and just dribble water out and make a terrible noise. And just an fyi for any future visitors there is No big freezer only a small compartment one in the fridge. Thanks

Very clean and well kept. We’d definitely return. Fantastic living space and large bedrooms with very comfy beds and plenty of storage space. The communal garden was great for the children and we enjoyed many bbqs sitting outside watching them play. We will be looking at booking again!

“Great holiday home everything you would need, spotlessly clean, close enough to falmouth to walk in.”

Only issues with property were the temperature of the the water, it was extremely hot, possibly hot enough to scold a child and the check out time is very early. The other potential problems are with the pendra loweth site, there is a shortage of parking , each property has one numbered parking bay, but there are a few spare unnumbered bays too, with 6 people staying we needed at least 2 parking bays and possibly 3 if all traveling from different areas ,also reception was not open at weekend even though arrival day was Saturday. Generally very good and would stay again.

“The property was excellent in every way: spotlessly clean, comfortable and well-equipped.”

It was also in a fantastic location - close to Falmouth, its amenities and beautiful coastline, yet within reach of other great attractions in southern Cornwall - such as St. Michael's Mount, the Lizard Peninsula and Land's End. Pendra Loweth itself was a lovely site, with a very pleasant layout and beautiful landscaping. The only tiny criticism was the absence of one or two little kitchen 'essentials' - such as a cafetière or coffee machine - having those would have been an added extra. Many thanks to all who made our stay so pleasant and enjoyable.

Reported and engineer attended but not resolved. No instructions for cooker or washer/dryer. Fantastic clean place and great proximity to maenporth beach. Very quiet and great for young children with communal garden area to rear.

“Bramble Cottage was like home from home, beds super comfy, bedding and towels were hotel standard, kitchen well stocked with everything you will need for a self catering stay, just add food.”

2 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, excellent for our family of 6. Beautiful touch was on arrival we were left scones, clotted cream, jam & cornish tea bags, perfect way to start our stay. Thankyou so much

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and loved the cottage and the site it was on.”

We enjoyed having the extra bathroom and a downstairs loo. The addition of travel cots, high chairs, stair gates and booster seats was great with a little one. The bedding was a little rough - the double bed had a very small double quilt on it, which meant the quilt didn't cover both the people. The mattress protectors should have been thrown out years ago!!! The quilts and pillows were extremely thin and worn, and the headboards were all broken where they fitted the top of the beds. The en-suite taps had to be turned and turned before we could get the water out, and the en-suite loo didn't fill up with water at all well after a flush - my husband managed to fiddle with it to make it better, however it was still very slow to fill and caused a lot of noise at night. The microwave didn't heat very well, and the minute button didn't work. The oven took a lot of figuring out, and we had to put the timer on to make it work, which meant the timer had to go on for longer to take into account the warming up time of the oven. The dishwasher was a great addition - however more mugs particularly, plates, cutlery and bowls were needed to account for those in the dishwasher which had been used earlier in the day. The washing machine and airers were great particularly with a 2 year old. The large towels we're a great size, and good quality. Maybe a few more hand towels for the bathrooms. The heaters upstairs we good, however the ones downstairs being storage heaters meant that we couldn't get the heat we wanted when we needed it. Furniture downstairs was good and comfy, having internet is a must these days - however it was very slow. Overall it was a great time away - I have only mentioned the above, as some of the little niggles can be rectified for future customers easily, and bits like the bedding definitely need sorting ASAP. I have run a Retreat and Conference centre so I know how all of these things are important.

“The standard of furniture, linen, kitchen appliances and general cleanliness was exceptional.”

The cottage itself was light and airy and extremely comfortable and we enjoyed having a patio to sit on. We thought the surrounding estate was lovely; well kept and pretty gardens and it was very quiet. Because of its location in a valley, WiFi and phone reception weren’t as effective as we’re used to at home but that’s Cornwall generally, we find! The surrounding area is glorious and Maenporth beach is very close. There are other beaches too not far away and Falmouth is interesting. It’s a fabulous holiday destination but drive slowly and carefully on the narrow lanes. We visit this area at least once a year as we have family here and we’d certainly use Pendra Loweth again.

We were grateful for the milk, coffee and biscuits on arrival. Lovely garden area to look at. There was also a bbq which would be excellent for dryer weather when you could sit outside. Very peaceful. Splash pool was good to have but only enough room for one family at a time in it and very small changing area. The park area was well maintained but again very small for the size of the holiday village. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

“The cottage was larger than expected it was lovely and clean and equipped to a high standard.”

The holiday complex is well laid out, the lanscaped gardens are very well kept and so pretty. The entrance porch to the cottage did need a clean perhaps it had been overlooked as it was the only area that was dirty. The coastal walk is lovelly but be the roads are narrow and there is quite alot of traffic not great for a stroll. It would be helpful to provide a hairdryer and a shortcut guide to operating the oven, hob and microwave. We had lovely holiday in a pretty place.

Very clean and spacious. The village is beauftiful and very well looked after. There is a tennis court which I enjoyed a lot. The food in the village's restaurant is very average and overpriced I would say, would not recommend it though. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back.

“Bramble Cottage is in a holiday complex, something which we would normally avoid if possible.”

However, the estate was nicely laid out and landscaped. The house was very clean though the kitchen was lacking one or two items including a cafetiere, small side plates and teaspoons. Parking is limited to one vehicle per property. However, there are a small number of unnumbered parking space - albeit that these might be a little distance away - if there is more than one car visiting. At the time we visited there were many empty properties which led to a peaceful stay. However, I would think that this may get a little busy and noisy in the height of summer and school holidays with families visiting. The property isn't terribly convenient for the beaches. The closest is Swanpool Beach (parking limited and costs £3 - even if you're just calling for a coffee) alternatively this involves a 20 minute walk through the estate and down a very narrow - and sometimes busy - lane with no pavements and traffic passing very closely. Regarding the general area, our big disappointment was the excessive cost of parking. On one day alone, because we moved about, we paid £15 in parking. There are some beautiful open gardens in the area, but take plenty of cash or join the National Trust if you want to visit them all. Trebah Garden was our favourite (difficult of anyone with mobility issues - but they have scooters to hire if you book in advance). I guess the big question is, 'would we go again?'. School holidays and high season, probably not. Low season - quite probably.

“Welcome pack was packed away under a pile of placemats in a random drawer and took us 2 days to find so we couldn't see site map, know when reception was open or how to find instructions for oven (it's a very complicated electronic hob and oven!”

). Not enough glasses, cups etc for a family of 5 (when I am holiday I don't want to be constantly washing up so I can have another drink!). Cleaner hadn't bothered to wipe down huge cobwebs on walls in kitchen (it took 5 mins to clean which I had to do in the end!). Kitchen wall clock hadn't been moved forward after clocks going forward). No curtains in bedrooms and so it was too light in bedrooms and my children couldn't sleep in the rooms (we have young children). Night storage heating was awful, too hot in the day and rooms upstairs cold at night. There were gaps round the window sills upstairs and we had to put towels round them to keep the cold out!. Bathroom door handles kept falling off Sofa was uncomfortable and double bed Radiators in bathrooms were not working and so couldn't dry towels, plus provide bigger bath towels so you can actually wrap them around you after showering! Be prepared for a very noisy shower especially the shower in the ensuite! We would not recommend Bramble Cottage unless all the things mentioned were addressed.

We would implore you in future to let us know whilst you are on holiday if there is ever any kind of problem as we would always do our utmost to help put things right speedily for you. We’ve spoken with the owners about your points and they are also sad that you didn’t find things perfect. They would like to let guests know that visitors comfort is hugely important to them and as such have invested in new and high quality appliances and furnishings (such as the range induction hob and oven, dishwasher and John Lewis sofa’s. There is plentiful crockery and cutlery provided (bearing in mind the dishwasher). They’ve never had a report of the heating being inadequate before, but agree to monitor this carefully. The windows do have blinds on them rather than curtains, however this is clearly shown in our photographs. We hope very much that despite the points you made, that you overall had a happy holiday and we hope to welcome you back to Cornwall again soon! Property Owner

“We had an initial problem with the travel cot supplied as it was broken, but it was quickly solved by the caretaker after we called your office - she was so helpful.”

The cottage was lovely and comfortable and had everything we needed - it felt like a home from home. We loved the peacefulness of Pendra Loweth, although it was a shame the pool was not open at any time. Some family have already booked another cottage for later this spring It might be worth warning clients that the mobile signal in the cottage is non existent for 02 customers and pretty poor for all networks as far as I can tell.

“It was our second visit to this site having holidayed here last summer (In a different cottage).”

This was a great cottage for the six of us. Good location on site with spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation. Also very helpful staff at reception and a great base to explore Cornwall. Only minor issues were that the BBQ probably needs replacing and the downstairs WC door lock didn’t seem to work. All in all however the cottage was very nice and allowed us to relax in comfort at the end of each day.

The property

Bramble Cottage is tucked away on the edge of the village overlooking delightful gardens to the rear.

The smart open plan ground floor living area provides a homely space to return to after a day of exploring the Cornish countryside.

Fling open the French windows and enjoy a glass of wine on the south facing terrace which is a real suntrap in the summer months.

Beyond the terrace is a communal lawn and garden where children can play games whilst parents relax nearby.

In the cooler months the kitchen off the living space will make preparing meals a sociable event.

Upstairs are three bedrooms, a double with an en-suite shower room and two twins plus a spacious family bathroom.

There is one allocated parking space plus visitor parking nearby.

Enjoying the south west aspect of the village, Bramble Cottage benefits from easy access to the coastal footpaths and Maenporth Cove.

Guests wanting to enjoy a game of tennis are just a stone's throw away from the all weather courts whilst those wanting to relax will appreciate the private terrace.

Those who have not ventured to the beach may enjoy a dip in the Splash Pool or a work out in the Gym.

Perhaps the best work out to be had is a circular walk from the cottage, down to Maenporth cove, up across the spectacular coastal footpath toward Swanpool and then back up through the pretty lanes to the village; roughly five miles but well worth the effort for those wanting to appreciate all that this special location has to offer.

North Helford and Falmouth are perhaps the quintessential Cornish visitor destinations; a mix of beach, creek and woodland serve some of our most interesting and historic villages and towns.

Falmouth itself is home to the National Maritime Museum, visitors will enjoy an amble through the narrow streets and possibly a boat trip across the River Fal or up the Truro River. The Village of Gardens, Pendra Loweth is a village of purpose built and privately owned self-catering holiday cottages.

Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views.
