“We have stayed in a Pendra Loweth property at least once a year for the last 25 - in a wide variety of cottages.”

There are many good things about this one. It was warm & welcoming - a nice welcome pack and plentiful kitchen utensils and a good TV and sound system although we did not use them. However as the week went on the picture changed somewhat. We are avid readers. The photos on the web pages showed there was a reading light in the lounge area which did not exist in fact. There was no reading light at all so (given that it was winter and dark early) we had to have the main lights full on all the time ...

There was no reading light at all so (given that it was winter and dark early) we had to have the main lights full on all the time we were in. The only small lamp on the ground floor was broken so was not much use. There was a strip light out in the kitchen and the towel rail in the downstairs loo did not work. We could not get the hob to work despite reading the instructions (when we found them) - but maybe that was just us. All the equipment instructions - whilst inserted into plastic covers - were just thrown willy-nilly into a drawer rather than being in a folder as other properties do. There was plentiful hot water but it is scalding - the thermostat needs to be turned down. I actually burned myself causing a blister. Finally - superficially the property was clean but there were many concentrations of dust. At the end of the week we supplied a number of photos to the owner showing layers of dust under the bed in the main room and on skirting boards that clearly had not been cleaned for many months. A previous reviewer said that the property needs a deep clean - and we agree with this.
