The property

Picture perfect Rose Cottage sits on the edge of the pretty village of Manaccan enjoying far reaching views across rolling countryside.

For those who want to get away from it all this is the perfect spot.

The beach at Gillan Cove, under 2 miles away remains peaceful year round being relatively unknown.

For those who love to walk, the hidden creeks, dramatic cliffs and woodland of the Lizard Peninsula will delight.

In the village of Manaccan you will find a quaint 16th Century Inn.

Within walking distance, the delightful Helford village sits sleepily on the banks of the river of the same name.

From here you can hire a boat and go exploring or catch the passenger ferry to Helford Passage to visit Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens which are ablaze with colour in the spring and summer months.

This charismatic 16th century traditional thatch cottage oozes charm inside and out.

The enchanting sitting room which runs the width of the cottage has a magnificent Inglenook fireplace to one end with wood-burning stove.

The spacious farmhouse kitchen at the rear of the cottage has a rustic air with table and chairs for six.

Sunlight streams in through the French windows which open to a south facing private terrace overlooking the rolling countryside beyond.

A winding staircase leads up to the first floor where there are two charming double bedrooms, a twin room and a family bathroom with a freestanding roll-top bath and a separate shower.

Outside is a delightful south facing cottage garden which enjoys privacy and superb views.

There is off road parking for two cars.

About the location

MANACCAN

Helston 10 miles ; Helford 1.5 miles ; Porthallow 3 miles

The village of Manaccan on the South Helford is small and friendly, with an excellent restaurant, friendly village inn and a beautiful 12th century church. The South Helford is arguably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall. With meandering country roads, picturesque creeks, tidal inlets and pretty waterside villages, the area can be summed up in three words: tranquil, charming and timeless. The perfect spot for enjoying outdoor living, the South Helford’s sheltered coves were made for messing around on the water and strolling leisurely along the banks. Leave your ‘phone behind and embrace the simple pleasures - while away time paddling in the shallows, explore hidden coves with a hire boat from St Anthony, and stroll through woodland to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
