“The cottage was lovely & homely with everything you could possibly want.”

It was clean & fresh when we got there with some of the usual Cornish cottage issues which was expected. The cottage has 2 double sized bedrooms with 2 bathrooms both with loads of storage, we were really happy with everything. I spent an hour on the first day weeding & cleaning the front garden which was really worth the effort as we had stunning weather all week and sat out every afternoon with a glass of wine looking down into the beautiful valley. I would definitely book this again due to ...

I spent an hour on the first day weeding & cleaning the front garden which was really worth the effort as we had stunning weather all week and sat out every afternoon with a glass of wine looking down into the beautiful valley. I would definitely book this again due to the size cleanliness & location, I could nitpick over small maintenance issues but we had such a lovely week there it really wasn’t an issue to us. We will be booking again for next year ❤️

Thank you for such a lovely review – we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and that you were lucky with the weather. And a further ‘thank you’ for accepting our cottage’s little quirks (like you say, it’s the Cornish way!). We must apologise for the garden and thank you for being so green fingered! We are in the process of organising a regular gardener to visit the property to make sure it is neat and tidy. Property Owner

The property

Nestled down a quiet lane in the hamlet of Pentewan is this spacious, converted cottage, Vi’s Valley View.

Set over two floors, this welcoming abode is suitable for a family or group of friends looking to experience this peaceful corner of Cornwall.

After a day of rambling the coastline, look forward to catching up on some TV in the sitting room, accompanied with an open fire for a calming ambiance.

Allow the designated chef to get to know the kitchen, home to a range of appliances, while the separate dining room offers a lovely setting for mealtimes.

If the weather is nice, why not head out into the courtyard with a disposable barbecue?

After toasting to a long-awaited break and tucking into supper, load up the dishwasher before catching the last of the evening sun in the peaceful front garden overlooking the valley.

As the night falls, move upstairs to find two double bedrooms; the master features a spacious en-suite bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.

When you’re ready to explore, about a 6-minute walk away lies the wonderful Pentewan beach, an adventure playground among bathers and a firm favourite among watersport enthusiasts since it is so large that it rarely gets crowded.

You can find spectacular dog-friendly beaches nearby, including Gorran Haven, Vault Beach and Par Sands.

Be sure to explore the Pentewan Valley Trail, a 4 km in land road-free path through the stunning woodland, and the scenic coastal footpath which spans in either direction over rugged cliff tops and secret coves.

Hop in the car and head to St Austell, a bustling town home to many attractions including the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, where you may learn about the town’s past, the Pinetum Gardens and many glorious beaches; slightly further afield lies the famous Eden Project!

There’s plenty to enjoy while holidaying at Vi's Valley View whatever time of year.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

About the location

PENTEWAN

St Austell 4 miles; Mevagissey 2 miles.

Pentewan is a delightful coastal village set back from the sandy expanse of Pentewan Beach. The village shop and pub draw visitors from far and wide, while the beach is good for children and a favourite with water sport enthusiasts. Dogs are only permitted on the beach between the first Sunday in November and the end of February, but dog walkers can enjoy the stunning woodland of the Pentewan Valley Trail, along with other beaches a short drive away. The coastal path passes through the village and as it climbs up the cliffside towards Mevagissey, the views across the bay toward Devon in the far distance are breath-taking. Good cycle paths pass close by and there is cycle hire available in the village. The nearby fishing village of Mevagissey offers many restaurants and fresh local fish. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Pinetum Gardens are both just a short drive away, while the Eden Project is within easy reach and well worth a visit.
