“The apartment was clean and comfortable.”

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the welcome scones. The actual entrance hallway to the block of apartments was very dirty and owners corporation should be on top of this as it's a real turnoff entering the building.

The property

This fantastically located, luxury apartment rests on the Pentire Peninsula which is between Fistral Beach and the beautiful Gannel Estuary, in the thriving surfing town of Newquay, Cornwall.

Crantock Reach is a contemporary, open-plan apartment boasting two south-facing balconies and is suited to a couple, small family or group wanting to enjoy a coastal escape to Cornwall.

Step into the bright and airy open-plan living room, with a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with sleek white units, a dishwasher and a breakfast bar to prep and enjoy quick meals at, as well as a dining table that can seat the whole group, so you can enjoy meals together and plan out the itinerary for your stay.

The sitting room has a sliding door onto an enclosed south-facing balcony complete with seating and views of Crantock town, glimpses of the Gannel Estuary and hills beyond, as well as a choice of two sofas to relax onto whilst enjoying watching TV or just soaking up your stunning setting.

There are two bedrooms to choose from; a spacious master super king-size double with delightful wooden furniture and access to a Juliet balcony (also south-facing with the same views as from the main balcony) as well as an en-suite shower room, while the twin bedroom has a zip/link feature, so can be turned into a super-king on request, catering for a variety of groups.

There is a second bathroom; a contemporary fully tiled suite with shower over bath, which should prevent any queues forming in the mornings.

There are pubs and restaurants within a stone's throw, as well as a selection of shops, while Pentire Peninsula boasts dramatic headlands and sweeping Atlantic coastal views towards Padstow Bay.

There are excellent walking opportunities to hand, with the South West Coast Path running the length of the coastline in both directions and encompassing stunning sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs and hidden coves.

Another great feature of Crantock Reach is its perfect location for golfers – Newquay Golf Club is highly popular for its coastal location, with coffee shops and spa hotels as options for others in the group.

Crantock Beach offers miles of golden sand, backed by dunes at the mouth of the Gannel Estuary, while Fistral Beach has a sand dune and cliff back drop and is known for its excellent surfing conditions.

Newquay is the UK's surf capital, and you can enjoy surfing or a number of water sports at any of its three major beaches, as well as a stroll around its picturesque harbour, stopping off at the 14th Century former lookout of Huer's Hut, while family days out can be enjoyed at Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium.

Head north up the coast along the Trevose Head Heritage Coast towards the fishing port of Padstow, or venture south towards Perranporth and the St Agnes Heritage Coast, while Cornwall's only city, Truro, is a short drive away, with its cathedral, museum and host of shops and eateries.

There is plenty of opportunity to explore the stunning north Cornwall coast from this fantastic luxury apartment.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
