    “It has been wonderful to stay at Stonecroft in Praa Sands - the perfect base for our 2nd week in Cornwall.”

    The property has everything that we needed and the location is second to none. The house was very clean and comfortable, a real home-from-home. Waking up to the view over the sea was magical and listening to the sound of the waves from the garden was so relaxing. We've packed a lot in, taking in the most of what this part of Cornwall has to offer. The local beaches have been stunning and the Coast Path provides lots of great walks and picturesque views. The property

Stonecroft is a lovely, detached bungalow in Praa Sands, sitting on an elevated position, making the most of the views of Cornwall's spectacular shoreline.

The holiday home has plenty of outdoor space, contemporary appliances, and accepts two well-behaved pets, making it ideal for a family or group of eight looking for a coastal getaway.

Before taking the stone steps up to your home-away-from-home, unload your baggage at the off-road parking and breathe in the fresh sea air.

Stock the cupboards and American-style fridge/freezer in the well-equipped kitchen/diner, where the group's chef can prepare home-cooked meals using the electric oven, grill, and induction hob, while the dishwasher takes care of the dirty work; sit at the dining table for eight and watch the waves crashing on the shore.

After a day at the beach, toss sand-caked towels and bathing suits into the convenient washing machine to be ready for the next day!

In the adjacent sitting area, there are plush seats to burrow into, as well as a Smart TV for movie marathons, and two steps up to a light-filled spot to curl up with a book or take in the mesmerising coastline views framed by a large window.

Unpack your bags and relax in one of the four tastefully decorated bedrooms, which include a king-size room with an en-suite shower room, as well as a double and two twins, all of which have abundant storage space and homely furnishings.

Take a long, relaxing shower in the snug bathroom to wash away the sand, and there are two cloakrooms to quickly freshen up before walking out the door.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the tranquil front veranda while watching the sun rise over the sea or make dinner an alfresco affair in the outdoor seating area.

The front garden is enclosed and pet-friendly, with lots of lawn area for your canine pals to run around on, while the back yard is a quiet refuge for picnics on the lawn and sunbathing.

Stonecroft is ideally located for a family holiday in Cornwall, with easy access to Praa Sands' excellent amenities and attractions; take a break from cooking and dine at Sandbar overlooking the beach, bring your buckets and spades to the sandy beach for some sea swimming, or pack your clubs and head to the Golf and Country Club.

Pengersick Castle, with its 16th-century tower, is a must-see for budding historians, while Godolphin House, an antique estate with a mediaeval garden, is just north of the Praa Sands.

Take a boat ride to the interesting St Michael's Mount, an island home to a medieval castle, Norman church, and wonderful gardens, or put on your hiking boots and travel west to Marazion, where paths lead guests along stunning coasts to idyllic beaches.

Before going south to Porthleven, spend the day in Helston to soak up local history at the Museum of Cornish Life and sample the local delicacy at Ann's Pasties.

Porthleven is home to a sandy beach to roll out your towel and bathe in the sun, alongside a picturesque harbour to pick up fish and chips, whilst Penrose is a quieter spot for wildlife lovers.

Wander the wooded area around Cornwall's largest natural lake to escape the hustle and bustle.

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
