“What a perfect holiday cottage!”

The property is beautifully presented, extremely clean and amazingly kitted out with everything you could need! It is in a wonderful location between Polly Joke Beach and Crantock Beach - both dog friendly and has stunning views of the sea and Goose Rock. Although it does not have a grassed area at the rear, it does have a lovely patio and there is plenty of grass for doggy friends at the front on the coastal path. Holly, the host, was extremely helpful and answered any queries with great efficiency. We would definitely recommend it and would love to stay there again!

“Lovely cottage , bed was extremely comfortable, plenty of kitchen utensils , crockery , glasses etc provided , much more than we could have used .”

The cottage was extremely clean which to me was the most essential . Lovely patio to sit out on , but I feel the front could have benefitted with some screening , as we could see into the adjoining property and vice versa and definitely the dogs could as well , but overall a lovely property .

Thank you for providing feedback and we are pleased to hear you thought Guillemot was lovely. It is important to us that all our properties are not only spotlessly clean, but also well equipped and comfortable. We own the adjoining property Cormorant and have either a venetian or roman blind at all the windows to the front to give guests privacy from the other property. Indeed all bedrooms at both properties have both a venetian and a roman blind. The website does also state that both Cormorant and Guillemot are part of three Seaspray holiday cottages. “It’s our second time at Guillemot, it’s a great property.”

Holly, the manager, keeps this property immaculate, it’s really clean and has all the facilities you could want. As it’s tucked away a little you can enjoy the peace and quiet. You have only to step out of the front door to start a local walk, enjoying all the spectacular views. After a day out you can enjoy the comfort of the lounge and still appreciate the sea view out of the French doors. I wish other sites that we’ve tried would keep their properties to this standard. We will look forward to returning at some point.

“We traveled from Staffordshire to Crantock and on the journey down you worry about the accommodation you’ve chosen comes up to your expectations.”

Well, we needn’t have worried. Guillemot was everything we’d hoped for and then some! The cute little cottage (one of three) was beautifully president and clean, the view from the lounge window was spectacular! Our old dog settled in quickly knowing it was home from home. The cottage was perfectly placed to explore the countryside, many lovely walks some easygoing and some challenging, it’s up to you. Thank you Holly and the team who make Guillemot so welcoming. “Guillemot was everything we imagined, it was peaceful, clean and comfortable.”

The view was amazing. We met Holly on the middle weekend when she came to change the bed linen and towels, and had a pleasant chat with her. The only very slight issue is the WiFi which was flaky, and our smart speaker kept dropping out, but I guess that's a small price to pay for being in such a beautiful isolated area. “Guillemot is a lovely location and accommodation, we were comfortable and felt relaxed, whatever the weather.”

“We've just had the most perfect holiday break at Gullemot, with our 2 dogs.”

The property was excellent, it was clean, well equipped and beds were very comfortable. The location of the property is fantastic with breathtakingly beautiful beaches to the rear and front of the house, which also has a wonderful sea veiws from the outside courtyard. Walking the costal path is a must too. Didn't want to leave and would definitely be returning. Holly the manager was very helpful and gave good advice about the surrounding area. “Guillemot Holiday Cottage is absolutely fabulous, beautifully decorated, comfortable, bathroom is stunning, as were the sea views.”

It has every facility you could possibly want, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, cooker, ironing board and iron, hair dryers, so no need to take anything with you apart from beach towels and anything you might need for your dog (if taking one). Lovely coastal walks (that go on for miles) and beaches left and right of the property and very close to other places you might wish to visit in Cornwall. Holly, the property manager, was very nice and helpful, even left us some fresh milk and muffins and we had a very nice e-mail from the property owner before we went, to say that he hopes we have a great holiday, that was a nice touch. We have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to family, friends and work colleagues. Will definitely book this cottage again. 5 Stars!

“We had a fabulous 5 day stay at Guillimot, the bungalow was immaculately clean and had everything we needed.”

We had beautiful beaches, and a nice spa bistro down the road and Newquay close by when we wanted to visit. The only negative I can say was no garden, (green area) which from the pictures it looked like we had, our puppy (Rocky) will only go to the toilet on grass not concrete which means every time he needed a wee it was walkies time. But we was very happy with the accommodation.

The photos don't do it justice. The interior is newly fitted out, comfy and extremely clean. The sea view was fabulous and we did not hear the neighbours. It was clean, warm and inviting with everything that we needed and more on site. The property is ideally situated for summer visits with Crantock and Poly Joke beaches in short walking distance. Walkers have direct access to the Southweat coast path and dogs are welcome at Guillemot. Photographers might like to checkout the textured cliffs and may be lucky enough to find some seals resting on one of the inlets. The Old Albion Inn at Crantock offers a warm welcome, quality food and is a short drive away from the property. Visitors would be wise to view the comments on a well known website regarding the nearest establishment.

Holly (property manager) was very helpful and even arranged additional parking at the local car park for a small fee which was really useful. Guillemot is a great place to stay if you want to use Polly Joke or Crantock beaches which are within easy walking distance

“Guillemot cottage is a cute little place that is very close to Jolly Poke beach.”

The cottage provides all that you need for a weeks stay and has a comfortable lounge/dining area from which you can see the sea. However, the beds were uncomfortable and pillows needed changing so those with tricky backs/necks beware. Also the shower cubicle is very tight - think caravan size! So larger people may struggle. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage especially during these covid times. Some improvements to be made to warrant the price tag but overall a nice little place.

Thank you for your feedback. We are extremely surprised to read your comments about the cleanliness. Currently on changeover day, all our properties are treated with a fogger that mists anti viral disinfectant around the whole house prior to been thoroughly cleaned. All bedding provided is of a good quality and replaced regularly, including all our pillows. We aim to ensure all our beds are always comfortable and are suitable for most guests sleeping requirements. The whole bathroom was completely furbished with high quality fittings at the end of 2019, including a full size curved shower cubicle with both rainfall and hand held shower heads and the size can be seen on the photographs and is the same as found in many households. We work very hard with our small team to always provide spotlessly clean, fully maintained accommodation with well equipped kitchens for holiday cooks and comfortable seating and other facilities. “We were able to check in very early which was greatly appreciated.”

The patio gate was removed for repair the day we arrived and was replaced by a rusted temporary stair gate. It rained a lot which showed up leaking gutters and a disconnected down pipe on the adjacent property, Cormorant. The security system controls are sited, unlabelled, right by the bathroom under floor heating controls and were mistakenly fiddled with, causing mayhem! We couldn’t find any instructions for the cooker. Sleeps four but would be very cramped for four adults. West Pentire is a lovely, quiet area, ideal for coastal walks and there are two good eateries close by.

An ideal base for the beach and coastal walks. Super communication from both the owner and Naomi (Property Manager) was brilliant! Only groans: the LPG payment, we left £10.00 cash, although the actual cost was £8.75. Felt this should be factored into the holiday cost. Toilet flush was a little temperamental and the toilet seat on the wrong way.

Cottage Summary

Guillemot is one of the three Seaspray cottages at the end of West Pentire.

This two bedroom cottage is a bungalow which means that guests with less mobility or small children can get around easily.

The cottage is decorated in bright, summery colours and has a coastal feel to it.

There is a fully enclosed patio at the back of the property with stunning views over the Goose Rock to the Newquay coast, making it ideal if you are bringing the dog with you!

The Seaspray cottages are a five minute walk from Crantock beach one way, and a short walk to Polly Joke beach the other, making it a haven for families, walkers or surfers.

A few minutes walk away is The Bowgie serving food and drink with the same fantastic view, C-Bay, a Bistro with great food, a lovely family atmosphere and of course, the view.

Crantock village is only five minute drive away, or a 20 minute walk, where there are two more pubs, a Londis grocery store (now selling Baker Tom freshly baked bread), a Post Office and other village attractions.

Why the owner loves Guillemot...

�We were looking for a cottage on a single level, which could sleep four and have sea views.

It is still a thrill to sit and eat breakfast and enjoy the wonderful views over Crantock Bay.

There is something special about this time of day at Guillemot.

We love to take our surfboards down onto the beach, yet be only a few minutes away when we realise we have forgotten something vital like lunch!

Rain or shine, Guillemot is our ideal get away.�

Bedroom 2: Two twin single divan (90cm) beds, bedside table, wardrobe.

A cot can be provided.

Family bathroom: Lovely fully tiled room with power shower cubicle, sink, WC, large illuminated mirror with shaver point, magic eye switch, heated towel rail, underfloor heating and storage.

About the location

CRANTOCK

Newquay 4.5 miles.

Crantock is a small Cornish village, just a short walk from the beach, close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the North to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, as well as National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.
