The property

In a countryside setting, yet less than 10 minutes easy reach of the beautiful beaches and villages of Rock, Polzeath and Port Issac.

Just over three miles away, fashionable Rock is a small village with an intertidal beach which spans for 2 miles at low water, it is a well established centre for water sports including dinghy racing, waterskiing, windsurfing, and sailing.

Close by is Polzeath another popular destination, with a great surfing beach, pubs, cafés and restaurants here to suit all tastes and just around the corner the picturesque and quintessentially Cornish fishing villages of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne may be recognised as the home of the television favourite Doc Martin!

The Applestore is traditional and cosy in style.

The ground floor has an open plan layout, the sitting room has a multi fuel stove and doors which open up to the patio area at the side of the cottage.

Exposed granite, polished beams and deep window sills add to the character.

From the hall stairs lead up to the two bedrooms which enjoy lovely rural views.

Both the garden and patio are fully enclosed, with a pretty garden and a large south-facing patio, giving you freedom to relax while the children play on the lawn. This property is the ideal holiday retreat, an appealing country cottage, it forms part of a small hamlet of attractive converted barns.

The surrounding farmland creates a peaceful and unspoilt backdrop away from the hubbub of the coastal resorts, yet within easy reach.

A quick hop across the Camel Estuary on the passenger ferry from Rock to Padstow will provide the perfect motive to visit one of Rick Steins eponymous restaurants or indulge in a bit of holiday retail therapy.

The golf courses of St Kew, St Enodoc and Roserrow are not far away and the 17 mile long Camel Trail cycle track makes for a fun day out if perhaps a few saddle sores.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

PADSTOW

Harlyn 2.9 miles; Constantine Bay 4.2 miles; Polzeath 15.6 miles.

Padstow is situated at the head of the Camel Cycle Trail and is a fantastic base for exploring the South West Coastal Path which opens up routes to beautiful Cornish countryside. This delightful fishing port is surrounded by sandy beaches and offers many opportunities to taste the locally sourced produce in celebrity owned establishments. Padstow has something for everyone with watersports, walking, cycling and fishing, you can even take a trip on a local fisherman’s boat! The excellent surfing beaches of Harlyn and Constantine are ideal for safe family fun, and Constantine Bay is also home to a golf course, just a few miles away, while a passenger ferry across the river from Padstow to Rock takes you to the beach at Daymer Bay. Just around the corner toward Pentire Head is the surfing paradise at Polzeath, and when the beach no longer calls, there’s a golf course nearby, several stately homes and gardens to visit. The fabulous Eden Project is just over twenty miles away.
