“Whilst the house and it general presentation was acceptable, when we arrived after an 8 hour journey, we were very surprised and disappointed to find there were no welcome items, no milk, tea or coffee, while I realise this is complimentary, most rentals due provide some sort of welcome pack, we then discovered that we had only 2 tea towel which was brown and singed, there was only approx.”

I do think this was either mean of the owner or remiss of the housekeeper as in all the rentals we have had, this is the first one to have this issue, and it did tarnish our stay. We have stayed at a house 1 minutes walk away 3 times previously and had no such issues, this rental is falling short of the standards renters have come to expect.
