Aaron's Cottage is a charming, five-bedroom chocolate-box style cottage in the sleepy Cornish hamlet of Treburgett, not far from St. Teath.
Aaron's Cottage is conveniently located close to Port Isaac and the beaches of north Cornwall such as Tregardock and Trebarwith Strand but also not far from the breath-taking Bodmin Moor.
With parking for a maximum of three cars off the lane, a large, multi-level front terrace and a charcoal barbecue for al fresco meals with additional field for relaxing strolls and child-like exploration make this home-away-from-home idyllic for a holiday.
Step inside the enchanting 400 year old cottage to find a living/dining area with a wood-burning stove to keep cosy in the Spring and Autumn and dining tables to seat the group in one room.
This is the perfect place for socialising round the table together for a meal made in the galley kitchen at the back of the cottage, which has been thoughtfully equipped for a couple of families and features an AGA, alongside a back-up electric oven.
After dinner, you can retreat for peace and quiet to the welcoming snug and curl up with a book from the incredible selection or watch your favourite show on the TV.
For a sociable evening, head up a set of stairs to the spacious first floor sitting room for board games and to watch your favourite series on the Smart TV in front of the alluring woodburning stove.
The whole family will be happy here in this comfortably decorated space, with plenty of sink-into sofas to laze in.
Gather everyone around to play darts, tap out a tune on the keyboard or challenge your loved ones to a game of table football or on the Nintendo Wii.
The ground floor also offers two bedrooms: a spacious master with king-size bed, exposed beams and a couple of steps up to the en-suite bathroom and an adjoining single, ideal if keeping a little one nearby at night time.
Downstairs is also home to the generously-sized family bathroom with a free-standing bath and walk-in shower.
Upstairs, the characterful features continue with high ceilings, sisal-carpeted flooring and low-level original sash windows.
Here you'll find a twin room with a 4’6 double and a single bed, in addition to a kingsize bedroom and a twin room.
In the summer time you can let the fresh air flood in through the windows, open up the doors to the front terrace area and wind your way around the original slate pathway to the back garden, a wonderful space for children to play on the lawn and for adults to unwind in.
If they have any energy left, they can explore the wilderness of the field which is owned by the cottage and located just down the lane in the hamlet, great for a larger group game of rounders or cricket!
Using Aaron’s Cottage as your Cornish base, explore north and south for varied activities.
From a practical viewpoint, in St. Teath down the lane you'll find a lovely village bakery/café, a Post Office and the inviting White Hart pub.
North you’ll find the hamlet of Treligga, with its footpath to Tregardock beach nearby and further afield, the King-Arthur-famed Tintagel and villages of Bossiney and Boscastle.
Follow signs to Port Isaac, where you can potter down to the harbour taking in the sights of the famous Doc Martin series and watch the fishermen chugging in with their daily catch.
Nathan Outlaw offers his two Michelin starred restaurants here for seafood foodies but there are also cafés galore and to work it off, access the South West Coast Path!
Taking in Port Quin bay along the way, you can continue on to Polzeath; a popular surfing beach where you can spend the day and eat at the Atlantic Bar & Kitchen, or on to Rock, where you can engage in water sports in the Camel Estuary and hone your golf swing at the world-class St. Enodoc Golf Club.
Closer to home in St. Endellion, treat yourself to cream tea at Trevathan Farm Shop, where smaller children will love playing outside, picking strawberries and finding their way through their maize maze.
Inland, head to Roughtor on the moor for an invigorating climb and rewarding panoramic views from the top of the hill, stopping at Delphi Bridge on the way back for the children to dip their toes in the stream and have a picnic on the grass with moorland ponies surrounding you.
When the day ends, there’s no need to cook every night as you’re surrounded with excellent pubs such as the St. Tudy Inn, the Maltsters Arms at Chapel Amble and St. Kew Inn which are all within 15 minutes drive from Aaron’s Cottage.
