“Very good accommodation ,comfortable and well equipped.”

There was no bedding for the double bed when we arrived but Ben brought it after a phone call.The wi-fi code provided did not work either but again Ben came to the rescue with another code (owners apparently did not answer his call).

“The villa was in a great position with all the lovely sunshine,to enjoy on the upstairs veranda.”

Villa was very clean, kitchen well equipped,we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing holiday. Would only recommend front door needs looking at, triple lock needs attention as very stiff.

“Had a lovely stay at this property was lovely and clean only down side was the amount of woodlice in the bathrooms, and the extremely squeaky toilet lid and very stiff to open in the onsuite bathroom.”

“The holiday park was so peaceful and quiet.”

The lodge itself was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was a bit tricky getting my Mum’s wheelchair to the door, but that was my own fault for not checking the disability access. It was manageable but we had to go to go back on ourselves a bit to use the upper path. We loved the upside down arrangement of the accommodation; not only did it make it easy for my Mum to access the toilets and bedroom, but having the living room balcony on the first floor is great for views and alfresco dining. We didn’t really use the on-site facilities but the location was great, there’s an Asda garage just a mile or two down the road which is handy for supplies. We went to Tavistock which has an indoor market and some large supermarkets. Access to Dartmoor is close by, and Bude, Looe and Plymouth are all less than an hour’s drive from the holiday park. I couldn’t fault the accommodation, it was lovely. If I was really nitpicking, I would say that an info sheet or welcome pack might have been useful, just to point out that the Wifi router needs switching on, as does the hot water and to outline where the rubbish goes and what goes in recycling (some places don’t allow glass for example). Having said that, it wasn’t hard to work out. We would 100% stay here again, we were really impressed and were sad to leave!

CALLINGTON

Tavistock 9 miles; Launceston 11.5 miles; Plymouth 14.6 miles.

Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are fabulous views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound. Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers a good selection of shops, inns and cafes, as well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties. A few miles away, the quaint village of Calstock clings to the steep banks of the river Tamar and is dominated by the splendid Calstock Railway Viaduct, a giant 11-arched stone construction supporting one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines running through the Tamar Valley. Other interesting places along the river are Cotehele, a beautiful historic house and gardens owned by the National Trust with a small quay and inn, and Morwhellam Quay, a theme park that staged a living history production for the BBC and where visitors can explore the rich mining heritage and watch blacksmiths, potters and craftsmen at work.
