The property

Standing on the banks of the River Dart, within a short stroll of Dartmouth's fine selection of cafes, wine bars, boutiques and restaurants, Bight Boathouse occupies an elevated position, boasting the most magnificent river views in either direction. Part of the historic Bight Boatyard that stands prominently high over the estuary, Bight Boathouse is a traditionally styled, furnished, spacious, detached residence arranged over three floors, boasting its own private 8 x 4m, indoor heated swimming pool on the lower ground floor.

Also equipped with sauna, poolside gym and table tennis room.

Four spacious bedrooms occupy the top floor, three with river facing verandas equipped with tables and chairs for relaxing and enjoying the panoramic views.

(care must be taken with children on all balconies, due to the considerable drop below).

A spiral staircase leads down to the spacious, open plan living area, spanned by wall to ceiling windows to take full advantage of the mesmerising river vista.

Furnished with 3 large settees and a large dining table, there is a pool table and further snug equipped with games, and videos to keep adults and children entertained for hours.

A large well equipped kitchen will make catering for a large party a breeze and also offers a breakfast seating for 8.

Spend summer meal times dining alfresco on the balcony equipped with patio table, chairs and barbecue, or while away the hours watching the river traffic come and go. There is much on offer for all ages and interest in and around Dartmouth.

A river cruise along the Dart to Totnes is by far the best way to take in the spectacular scenery or if you prefer, take the steam train from Kingswear to Paignton to enjoy the beautiful views.

Stroll into the town and enjoy browsing the boutiques and galleries that line the cobbled streets.

Dartmouth offers a multitude of dining venues to choose from fine dining, award winning fish restaurants, trendy cafes, tea rooms and cosy traditional pubs with open fires.

If you are a beach lover head to the sheltered, sandy bay of Blackpool Sands, just 3 miles, where there are a number of water sports available to try and equipment to hire

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
